looking good. fire extinguisher is to large, looks like a scuba tank and what ya gonna use for shocks ?
Troublemaker
10-16-2008, 09:58 PM
lol fire extinguisher is 1/6 scale lol according to you its 1/4 LOL and for shocks all im using is springs lol...
twisted
10-16-2008, 10:03 PM
springs are meant to control ride height.you need shocks to control dampening.for example,if you drove that truck at speed i bet it bounces alot or the body rolls over on the chassis alot.if you had some shocks with oil to control the rebound and dampening it would handle better.
as far as the fire extinguisher...it may be 1/6 scale of an industrial model but not one you would see in a trail rig. ever see a real extinguisher take up the hole passenger side on a real truck ? ;)
Troublemaker
10-16-2008, 10:17 PM
nope lol then on shocks im gonna have to think of suttin and remove extinguisher and maybe put another seat lol

wow didnt realize WK axles filled out a nylint body so well... i have wk axles/trans and a 1/6 nylint body layin around =D you should go into detail on how you mounted that transmission.. great job man"thumbsup"

10-17-2008, 07:25 AM
lol thats funny but awesome pretty easy on mounting tranny just used 4 stock holes 2 in middle 1 on each side then 2 on bottom 1 on each side adn then put suport links to hold it from rocking hope that helps you out and thanks

hey i was gettin parts together to try the same build, but all my tires seem like they would look funni, your fill out the wheel wellls really well, what tires are those your using? you know how many inches tall they are? and wide? thanks for the help, cant wait to see some more pics =p

cool looking ride.
as the other guys already said...
the water tower in the passengers seat is a little big.
add another seat, move that tank to the rear, rip the handle off it,
and it can be the OBA for ARB's.
Troublemaker
10-18-2008, 07:04 AM
awesome ur goin for a twin lol if you figure suttin outfor suspension please let me know b/c all i ahve is springs and like TWISTED^ said theres no dampening.. the tires im using are Imex All-T's 2.2 they are 5 inches tall and 2.8 inches wide..
HotCarl73
10-18-2008, 10:16 AM
"dampening" is what you do to a sponge when you put it under a faucet. "damping" is to diminish progressively in vibration or oscillation. in the army, you'd be doing push ups.:ror:
I think it looks good other than you r wheelbase being off a little"thumbsup"

sry took awhile but things didn't workout as i planned so there has to be changes on this build the INTERIOR is a BIG problem so I think I have to take the scale out of this build in order to have things work b/c the interior is blocking me from mounting bat box and electronics..

hey everyone i didnt cann the project "not just yet" ran into the holidays so money is tight for me so i have to take a break from RC until after the holidays then i will try to get things back on track.... I tried these small 3inch xtm threaded shocks in it but there just to small and stiff i only get 3 inch travel=NOT GOOD...so i have to think about things thne take action so i will try to keep everyone updated as much as i can and i would like to say thankyou to everyone that has commented on my project I appreciate it 100%... and.................HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE!!

nice looking rig (put some longer links on the front to make your wheel base fit the body) here is a little something im working on you may remember it lol:lol:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/usa1man/6thjeep001.jpg
i just can not decide what tires to use what looks better
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/usa1man/6thjeep004.jpg
AIPOHAKU
12-20-2008, 11:32 AM
Instead of longer links just lower the ride height...USe taller shock towers and squat the jeep so the WB lengthens..Then I think itll look better..Id use some wideners as well..If not then a wheel with a wider offset...I think you could make this thing look REALLY good!!
Ohh...comp cut the rear fenders too..The curve aint doing it!..
Troublemaker
12-20-2008, 11:33 AM
NOT FAIR "ROCKY" you said you threw it away "you lied to me Y?

Troublemaker
12-20-2008, 11:45 AM
na b/c rocl crushers are more of a scale crawling tire and im trying to go for a scale trail rig and the rock crushers are narrow i had a set on my wk/crawler bt then i sold them to 666 and now i have flat irons on my crawler.
AIPOHAKU
12-20-2008, 11:49 AM
Alot of 1:1 guys run the BFG crawlers on the trail...How bout stompers then?..LOL!..They are a scale trail tire.."thumbsup"..The AllTs look good too!
Colby
12-20-2008, 12:47 PM
