After seeing how good the kongs looked on badhoopty's rig I figured I would take mine off of my nitro crawler and try em on my clod. I found out I have more than enough power to spin them(14 cells behind an EVX) but not enough servo to steer em and my wheelbase is too short. It was fun crawlin around, I had some serious ground clearance under the diffs but there gonna have to go back on the big truck where they belong.

I think a minimum wheel base for the Kongs should be 14.5 to 15 inches. I also think that the track width needs to be a little more than a clod offers. They are well suited for a wheel base of 15.5 and a track width of XFactor axles.

Another thought is to lengthen the wheelbase a bit and narrow the Kongs by a couple of inches!

Why slow? Just a lot of work I would guess, Soon I get to join you in the fun of playing with tires. If my BFT's get here.

i'll have to wait for your review of the narrowed kongs, Dirk. For now i'll keep the bft's on the clod, it's cool having 2 different scale crawlers. mgt for big rocks-clod for medium rocks. I am planning a 3rd project i just bought a 1/10th scale 67 ford pick-up body to match one of my real trucks so i want to get a bruiser and make a real scale replica. That would be for small rocks!

Looks great but it could be lengthened to look better and handle better.
