Hello everyone,

I am in the Des Moines area and I am starting to get into crawlers again. I used to have a few Clod crawlers about 4 years ago, but no one else around here was really into it.

I have access to multiple manual mills and lathes, and also a couple CNCs.

If any of you have a drawing that you want cut out of aluminum, plastic, carbon fiber, etc., just let me know. I am looking to make a couple of crawler frames, so if you want something built, I am just asking that you pay for the materials for however many you want and let me keep one frame/part for myself. That easy. Just looking to get back into the hobby, not make any money.

Let me know if you are interested in such a deal.
Talk to you all later.

Welcome back Chris. I may have some intrest in building some axle housings but I've not yet decided how to do it yet. I wish I could do CAD it would be a lot easier. You gonna get a Vendor Star and build parts or what's your plans?

2009 will be a better year for us Iowa crawlers. We will all have to get together and thrash our junk. Is the Sailorville spot reopened yet?

As of right now, I do not own a crawler. I am hoping that with everyone's ideas for different parts we can come up with our own "Iowa Crawler". If I make a different part for each of you, and I get one part out of each deal, then I will eventually have a crawler. Totally custom, but 100% Iowa!

I have AutoCAD 2007 on my home computer and I can import files into MasterCam at work or school, so that is not a big problem. If you just sketch it out on a napkin and scan/fax it to me, I can get it into digital form.

I really am just looking to make some unique parts for local crawlers. If you send me your idea, there is no way that I am going to try and sell it. If you want me to make them for you, and you want to sell them, we can work something out.

Let me know what you guys are thinking.

I am only about 15 minutes (because of Ankeny traffic/stop lights) for the Saylorville Marina. Where exactly is this "Saylorville crawling spot"?

I may have CD 2.0 going up for sale next season. If I get CD 3.0 finished in time. Both my Jeeps and the family take all my time now.
