But really there are endless spots all along the riverbank to go.

It's not a rough neighborhood. There is no neighborhood. Very steep location and with a bad step or a slip and you might not stop till you hit the bottom. And I have read that it is haunted by soldiers from the Revolutionary War. The site was where dead or dying soldiers were brought.

My opinion is Chops is being generous on his discription of lexington hobby. They only had two things "kinda" cool. Traxxas summit.(which i dont want) and a game setup on a computer for flying model airplanes(simulation). I also dont own one of those. I couldnt even find poly black paint. Very dissapointed. if you need "A" tire. Call'm. If you need "A" propellor call'm. anything else. Good luck

you mean the other end of the zoo parking lot. That's actually the first side we tried. It was cool but there was a little TOO much water over there. You actually had to do too much skipping over rocks and picking up the crawler and setting it down to much. Over on the right side is where we prefer to go. You can set it down and crawl for a while before coming to a point that you either have no where to go or can make. either way both sides are pretty awesome though. (Scenery is a little better on the right side too. Right chops)"thumbsup"

Usually around 10-10:30, 11 at the latest. It takes about 45min to an hour to get there from Sumter. I think any later would put you fighting the zoo crowd for parking. Last trip it was hard to get out of there because of all the cars.

ALRIGHT...check it out...im gonna throw this out here and start planning this far ahead so we might be able to get more people interested and able to go. at this moment the weather looks like it will be perfect on saturday morning (April 11). Im not goin to set a definite time yet, but im thining 9 or 10 til 1 or 2 or something of that sort. this time of year when its getting nice out in the afternoons the place fills up with people on the rocks and limits our play area...AND as i dealt with yesterday...the police start kicking people out of the zoo parking lots...NEVER FEAR though...i made friends with a lawyer that has an office adjacent to the railroad and just above the rocks that gave me permission to park at his place (i think he knew i wasnt drinking/smoking/shooting up/etc) and put me in charge of telling him if anyone was doing something "wrong"...i laughed and walked away! anyway they spoke to me several times and asked about my crawler so if the cops try to kick us out there i think ive got that covered for now...so see if you can make it this week and post up a preferred time frame!!!!

I ordered RC4wd TracGear spools last night. Also bought an SWX chassis off another member, and at the same time won a Kamikaze chassis last week too, so I'll be busy this week. This thing is a money pit.

It's a spool and gear all in one with HD pinion too.
I told Kamikazi what I had and to send me what they thought would be best. I think they're more Berg based chassis so I don't know what I'm getting. But hey, it's free!

HERES THE PARKING INFO FOR SATURDAY APRIL 11TH!!!!

I have spoken with the guest services director at Riverbanks zoo regarding parking in their lot to access the river. Last weekend they had hired cops on staff asking anyone that was parking there to go to the river to find somewhere else to go. I was one of those people so I went down the road and found a parking lot adjacent to the Cromer and Mabry attorneys office. To my surprise there was someone there and we spoke for a few minutes after he asked what exactly I was doing. He seemed interested in my rig. In any case I called him up after speaking with the zoo and asked permission to park around his office. He said that would be fine cuz "he doesnt think we are doing anything bad" so lets keep that reputation!

I got some images off of Google to show yall what Im talking about...no matter which way you come from you will exit onto Greystone Blvd and turn left at the stop sign. That will take you to the end of Greystone really quick like...where you will turn RIGHT (turning left takes you to the zoo). After turning right you will be on Candi Lane and go a couple hundred yards where the parking lot will be on the left. Like I said above I will be on a BLACK harley and my fiance will be there in her GREY Mazda3. I will arrive plenty early cuz I'll be working on my crawler a little putting new parts on!

I had some time to kill this eve so I farted around on my little rock/wood pile for a bit and inside of 5 minutes I completely stripped the hex on one front wheel and broke my "modified" Traxxas front shaft.

RC4WD Diablo. i broke the plastic axle housing. sorry, i keep saying axle, but i need the housing. i was gonna get the alum one, but they went up 50 bucks on it, but it is a complete rtr axle (with housing lol) vs 25 bucks for a front and rear plastic housing. its getting warmer. and i will have one soon, so i can go another time

started the main in 3rd, got the lead on the first lap, broke a turnbuckle, got it fixed, ran down the leader a lap in a half down, but i dont think i would have caught him. time was running out. 3 min to go, batts dumped. forgot to gear down for the main.....dang it.....

I'm glad you are using the Rovers. I've been thinking of getting a set....heard lots of things about them. Some good some bad. but i'd love to see for myself. I'm running the Chisels (G8 compound). can really see much difference between these and my M2 Hammers but I love the extra ground clearance. These tires are HUGE. Kinda makes it look like a super.

hey guys i have been called to respond the wildfire that is currently burning in horry county near myrtle beach...i could be there 3-4 days...wont know til i get there and see the situation...the cool part is ill be driving a "firetrack" which is a tracked military personnel carrier from the 70s or early 80s i think...we have them outfitted with 1000 or so gallon water/foam systems...so at least ill be having fun...but from what ive been hearing this fire has been extremely intense...

i hope i can make it back for some crawling sunday...i should be back some time saturday if this detail is anything like previous ones but im just not sure yet...ill keep ya updated
