I recently bought some TRAC GEARS for my CLOD from RC4WD.COM. I installed them, but now it is really hard to turn my axles by just grabbing the end of the axle that goes into the stub axle part and turning it (NOT TRYING TO TURN IT WITH THE WHEELS INSTALLED). Should it be that tough to turn by hand (without any motors installed)? I would think it should turn easily.

I'm wondering if whatever is causing it to turn hard is going to mess up my lathe motors or my ESC.

Let me know what you know. ALSO: is it possible that if I tightened the screws to tight on the axle cases for the CLOD that it would bind up somehow and make it too hard to turn the axles?

My rear gearbox sounds like your's.. My front spins freely. I don't notice it while driving. I'd like a solution, but I typically use the "Drive it 'till it's broke" rule.

I installed the metal gears from RC4WD and I had the same experience. I had to take a hammer and tap the brass hex shapped pieces into the track gear until they fully seated their selves into the track gear...

with locked diffs, it should turn easy. I also had the same problem when i had installed some trac gears in a clod axle. I wound up not using them. But i would try icurnvs idea.

hmmm ... it did turn easy without the motors, but when i screwed it in ... it was harder to turn, without tires. could it just be motor torque?
