Help Me Save This Bug

It was hell cheap but it has this long crack on the hood , what would be the best thing to patch it with on the inside?

This will eventually be flat painted on the outside at the end so I though it wont really matter ...but I am worried that the crack might show through the flat paint so the method that I do end up using here should I hope allow me to use the stuff on the outside and sand it down ...

What would you use?

I've never sanded shoe goo. I don't think it gets hard enough.

No but it will hold it together on the backside. I don't see you being able to bodywork the outside and not have it crack back when you use the body.

Thanks for the info guys , i guess one way or another it will get scratched anyway so as long as I Shoe Goo the inside and back it with something it should do the trick ...I'll post up when its done "thumbsup"

Use that shetrock patch tape, the stuff with tons of little squares over the shoe goo

add an e on sheetrock, woops

Don't hold me to it but you should be able to use the thick CA glue on the out side"prep it frist", & then be able sand it down but you will have to go wider then the crack so you can bled it in when you sand it out. Let us know how it turns out.

shoe goo is the way to go on the inside it is flexible, but you can not
sand it.Are you going to repaint the whole body from the outside? or both
inside or outside. Are you gonna strip the paint on the inside?

ive seen that body on here before, id fill it with shoe goo (on the back side) id imagin the ca would eventually crack off if you fill to big of a gap with it

You can thin Shoo Goo with toluene or xylene and make it paintable. Get it at local auto paint supply shop.

Mix it up in a glass jar with a lid, the unused portion will keep for a while. I'd start at about 70% shoo goo and 30% thinner and go from there.

Oh, and if you drill a small hole at the end of the crack will it will stop it from running more?

definatly use the sheet rock tape it will make it flexable.when you apply the shoe goo make sure to get it in the crack.use good wax paper on the inside of the body.this will help you line up the cracks to keep it smooth.the wax paper will come off easilyand keep you from making a mess.
