Duratrax motors

Am i correct in assuming that the duratrax 11k motor has more torque than the stock cc 5000 motor?? Will this help slow things down and provide more torque?:?:

That's corect. Higher number, more torque.

I asked DTX about electric specs of their 380 motors (including MQ, High rpm & VR3), but they don't have any. This is the only information I got.

Wouldnt the 5k motor be rated at 5000rpms, and the 11K be 11000 RPMs? I was always led to believe the higher number of RPMs is more for speed then torque. Or have I been misled?

Hmm, thats sound promising to help eliminate the clodstall. Maybe grab a 11K and an 8500. They are cheap enuff o make the experiment worth the effort.

I ordered two 1100 motors the other day still waiting for them.

I finally got the motors in the mail and got them installed late last night played around with it for a few mintes today. It goes probably twice as fast as it did stock not really what i was looking for there, but it does seem to have more torq, still waiting for my new pinions hopefully that will slow it down. When you hit the throttle in forwards or reverse it will lift a tire off the ground. It seamed to do better on the rocks I have had trouble with before.

Well, i actually think that 11k equals the RPM of the motor.. That's why it goes twice as fast :P about the torque, well, it should have more, i guess :) Btw, if u install smaller pinion, it'll pull wheelies easier ;) Just fyi! More torque + smaller pinion = wheelieez

I'm not sure what the problem was but with the 11000 motors I installed if i pulled up to something that I needed to give some throttle it would shut down the electronics or wig out I would either have to turn it off and back on or pick it up and turn the wheels by hand set it back down and it would run fine till i had to hit the throttle again to climb. I changed back to my stock motors and it is fine. Not sure what was happening.

A lower RPM motor will have better torque at the lower speeds we need for crawling, thats why we all use high turn, high torque motors in our real crawlers. A higher RPM motor will have the torque at a higher speed. Not what we are looking for. I had a feeling the guys at Duratrax didnt know what they were talking about.

agreed, we need lower rpm motors, not higher.
with the 8k and 11k motors you will loose low end power (what we use) and gain high rpm speed.
