15 amp switch
2 55t Integy Lathe motors

From experience with this same build under my belt, and doing it 3 times, lower the backbone until it touches the top of the motor cans, you will still have plenty of clearance, and it will not have near the axle swing ;) Also, turn the rear motor around if you want better approch for the rear axle

She does now...she caught me putting them back 8)
Been thinking about lowering the backbone, it means I have to get the mill back out and machine some new adapters :-(

I thought the same thing both times I made lowering brackets, but trust me, you will like it mucho more :)

That's wild that you have the shock towers sticking out of the body. That's the first time I've seen that done on a r/c vehical. I thought you were going to get a bug body. Does your truck run yet?

so who has the third "known" one? and who is thinking about it
we gotta set up a MOA GTG, figure out what these things are capable of

MOA rigs
Mnster, Wojin, D_dogg, ced rc (just a guess)
It was running/driving but, I didnt like the mount for the DIG so I desoldered it and made a new mount.
Jeeper_05's truck is setup very similar to mine with the shock towers coming out of the body. I tried the bug but, after cutting it all up, I didnt care for it.

I was referring to Jetboat, Mnster and ddog, but now it looks like we have wojin too. Future MOA's will remain nameless at this point 8)

Bug bodies are ugly anyways. They work good though. I would never have a bug body. What is that brand body that you bought for it? Is that a jpcustoms single cab or what? I just hope it was worth paying that money and building that truck. Because how much better would something like that do compared to a full competion 12.5 2.2 truck. That's what I wonder. Like is it worth paying all that money just to have more clearence.

LOL, same body I have. Looks great, but will it perform?:ror: Very impressed with it so far.

who cares, I just want it to look good :flipoff: I still havent gotten the flex exactly where I want it and I need to redo the rear links but, plenty of time before May.

Pretty sure I'm gonna build an MOA rig, undecided between Bully and Berg, I like the design of the Bully's but RC4WD worries me about availability, will repair parts be readily avail?
Looks great, but will it perform?:ror:
I'm waiting on all you guys to work out the kinks before I build my MOA stick :lol::lol::lol:

Ininto a small issue with the dig... On carpet tests it doesnt stay fully locked, really close but allows the tires to rotate somewhat.
Normally closed to esc
Normally open to ground of motor
Switch to pos of motor

updated pictures..
Dig has been rebuilt, only rear lockup right now but as you can see I can add front

with my driving I thought this was an appropriate sticker... its under the servo

side hilling shouldnt be much of a problem

Yeah mine lock pretty good as well. Maybe it's your gearing? I'd test it on the rocks first though. Carpet is a highly exaggerated traction crawling surface.

dont get me wrong, it works great. On carpet you have to expect that its going to unlock a little because its non mechanical. I think on rocks it will work great...its just too cold to do any real testing (-17 this morning) I just want better!!! Im trying to go for a comp rig that wont break on me this year... I did the math and last year breakages cost me 3 positions in the points.

I was very impressed with the truck when I got it on the rocks!!! The dig works perfect, so much better than mechanical. The servo has so much power that when the front wheels were bound to badly the whole truck moves. Although the flex is less than Im used to it still worked great, low and stable. The tires on teh other hand, they were good but no rock claws. Once the chisels are out Ill give them a try.
Ill post up some carnage shots tomorrow... It tooks some BIG hits and falls, 1 so bad that it dented the shock mount but, nothing broke.

Traction wise it doesnt make a difference that I could tell/

well... after crawling around Saturday I decided I needed to make some changes. I started with just flipping the rear axle, that led to needing a longer backbone that lead to a bunch of work. End result is I have more flex, less axle steer and hopefully less hang ups.
Forgot to mention earlier, that electronic dig is GREAT!

a couple of pictures of the reconfigured rig from my WIN at the Rock Xtreme event in Wisconsin. As you can see I flipped the rear axle back forward and clocked the heck out of it so that the motor is way up there. Also, I made a new stick mount and lowered it so I could eliminate the axle steer.
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc305/jshirley78/rock%20xtreme/IMG_2584.jpg
As you can see, the belly clearance of the stick excels in certain places.

No torque twist thanks to the MOA is great, add that to no suspension to compress when climbing steep grades and you have a winning truck. Until today the truck had been spot on but my driving had limited me to a 2nd place finish twice.

Thought I would post up a couple of the changes...
I added PunkRC dig
Rebuilt the steering to move the servo as far back as I could. Moved it so far back that I had to cut off the top of the link mount.
I had them in the last post but didn't give them any credit and they REALLY deserve it... spiracingwheels.com, they keep the weight down low, yet the way they are designed don't have the rotating mass.

The only thing I don't care for in sticks is that there is NO room to hide wiring. My rig may suck but my wiring is clean, so is the cane lol. I guess I could settle for a rats nest if I could finish a course.

theres no room for anything... with the bully axles you can mount stuff on your axles but, when I did that it kept bashing into the rocks and thus went back to under the body.
