I thought I would post up a few pics of my SCX10. Nothing special, I plan on a different body in the future so I didn't spend any time on this one. The kit goes together very nice I was more impressed with it than the comp rig. I modified the wheels and stripped and painted the rings. It comes with the upgraded lockers and a slipper. Pretty good deal for a scale project and I would recomend it.

Thanks.
I have a hook up :) I got the AX10 the day they were released also. The kit is very nice.
I am building a Toyota right now and was getting tired of not having a 1.9 so I thought this would help me be more motivated to work on the other rig."thumbsup"

nice pics, i wish i had a hook up at axial. i can't wait to get mine, the only reservation i have about this kit is the battery mounting position. did you try the front position and do you think there might be issues with putting it in the front if you run another shell? it looks like the supplied one has quite a high hood and i'm hoping it won't be a problem if i were to go with tamiya's hilux shell. thanks for sharing your pictures! The front position still keeps the battery fairly low, but higher than the rear. With the lipo I have in it the shock towers would be level with the top of the battery. I am building a toy using a hi lux body and I sat it on the axial chassis, I have the cab back in it and I would recomend swapping the skid plat and running the tranny hte other direction if you ran a hi lux body. I am thinking about a rover body or something else hard body.

No, the axles are teh same. They have a really narrow aluminium hex. The tires are half covered on a hi lux body and they fit perfectly under the jk body. The setup is good for a mild scale trail rig. I was just thinking I should order up a clod body for it.

I think those piggyback shocks are a seperate upgrade item.

I read on another thread that the piggyback reservoir is fake and there are other caps on the tree without the fake "scale" bit.

Exactly!! I chose to put the regular caps on becouse I didn't like the look of the fake piggy backs. There is a upgrade piggy back reservoir (still fake) that is made from aluminium.
Any torque twist?
Not really that much. I did take it out and run it on the rocks totay and was pleasantly suprized. The tires hooked up really well too, despite the fact that it was cold and wet.

How is the stock gearing?
Is it the same as the ax10? If it is I want to gear it a little bit lower.

Same gearing as the AX-10, but remember that you are running 1.9 wheels and tires. I am running a 35 turn motor with a 21 tooth pinnion and a 2 cell and it definetly needs more. I would go 3 cell but I am running a novak esc. I have a 76 tooth spur and a 31 tooth pinion on my other 1.9 that I am goint to steel for it becouse I am ditching the axial tranny in it and running a 2 to 1 rc4wd t-case and a hpi reduction box.
Axial just anounced they are releasing the new r & p sets that are higher and lower gear ratios. I will be buying some lower ones for this and going higher on the tranny to try to eliminate the little bit of torque twist it has.

I have a set of them ( in 2.2) and they didn't work very well in the granite rock fields that my club uses for a comp site. It looks like RPP didn't get my cancellation notices because I just got the shipping invoice and tracking number, so I guess I'll find out 1st hand how well the 1.9 tires work.
I like the pics you took, that rig really seems to handle the terrain very well. Any issues with the 3 link suspension "steering" when it gets twisted up?

The front grill is just the stickers. No need to spend time on a body I will just ditch anyway. I am going to get some video up later this week if I can find somewhere to drive it. We just got a lot of snow and it is suposed to snow more :(

Nice photos. I think it looks like a very fun truck to drive. I hate the body, but like you said, it's for bashing about anyway. So the axles are three linked, just like the AX10? For some reason it looks a little more compact, and confined. Might just be the RX box covering things up. I can imagine all the neat scale builds that will be coming once more guys get their hands on these things! I bought a High-Lift a few months back. Looks like I should have bought one of these instead. So much more scale looking. I might just buy a frame and transmission. See if I can't throw the High-Lift axles under the chassis (though the Axial axles seem a lot more scale and have better clearance). Very nice.

Ironic....Just spent about a year building an Ax10 based scaler, very happy with it, but sure would have been easier and cheaper to buy that rig;-) But, prob not as fun, don't see "finishing" the thing ever"thumbsup" I'm thinking about going over to help with the Venom build, we'll see8)

X infinity!
3 parts, that's all it would have taken:-(
If a Vendor reads this, if you were to make new cases and shorter inner axles, to the width of say a TLT, you could sell a ton to all the scale guys.
That's a good looking rig there Zuk, you lucky dog.

Here are some updated pics with the new body. I built the bumper but I am going to change it. I wanted to combine the look of the old fjs where the bumper is out a good foot or so with a crawler bumper. I can still use the bumper on something else later so no big deal. I am getting ready to build a roof rack and I will mount a 3racing winch on the new bumper. I also picked up a pack of Proline lights. My boys a going to do some editing on the video footage they shot today and post it soon.
