heat shrink driveline mod

A couple people have asked about this. Take a peice of heat shrink and wrap it around the drive shaft ends, shrink it around the pins so they won't come out, I use 1/2 heatshrink and cut it into a 1/2 strip. I have done this to all of my drive lines and axles. It works great and is simple."thumbsup"

It gets hit for sure, being is that its "rubberized" it takes quite a beating, I have been running mine for a few weeks now and have not had to replace any of them yet.

I have thought about doing this mod, but did not want to take apart
the truck to do it. I will do this when the time comes. In the mean time
I just put a dab of shoe goo on all the pins. It should work for awhile.
When I raced truggies I use to put shoe goo on all of my e-clips and
never lost one.

I do this to my truggies, buggies, monster trucks, and even my carpet cars. It is so easy and so cheap, but it is the best insurance.. It really sucks when you loose that main because you lost a set screw or a pin.. :/
But its the first thing i did with my crawler

Nice, I think it will still work, run it and see, worst case is you redo it....no biggie.

Ya, I need to redo it. As me and my son where comp crawling some boxes in the living room this morning. I witnessed one of the fronts come loose when it got hung up. I figured I might have a chance cause the heat shrink I used was some pretty thick stuff.
Do any of you guys have to remove the links for the rear axle to get the drive shaft out? My front comes out real easy but I have to remove the lower links to get the rear shaft out.

Same here....... but I have to remove the lower axle links, in order to swing the axle out far enough to get the rear driveline out. I gues you dont.

haha, just exstend the whole axle all the way down, like lift it so the shocks are fully exstended"thumbsup"
that will make the drivelines longer

Yep just cycle the shocks it will give you enough room.
