Well, another thread... hehe.
I have taken the same pictures as the rest of the builds in here, with the box, and the parts assembled, don't bother posting more of that...
Here is some pictures of the almost finished product, there is still some small things to sort out...
Hope you enjoy my Yota'

Here's some pics whitout ht body.
The body post is still a little rough, needs shaping and paint, hasn't gotten around to that yet.
The trackwidth is (center-center tire) 7inches (about 180mm)
Outside measurements (tire-tire) is about 9inches (225mm)

thanks for posting pics. The body does a good job of covering the tires- I was afraid that the tires would stick out too far, that's why I haven't built my kit yet.

That's what I thought too, but with the incredibly narrow axial hexes and 0 offset rims, and a set of bushwackers, no problem :)
Exactly what I have been waiting for some one to do. Did you have to adjust the wheelbase at all? When I build a Hilux, I'm using an SCX chassis. Looks really nice! "thumbsup"

No I didn't do anything with the wheelbase, 11.4" - 11.5", not a big difference, not even noticeable :)
Awesome - can I get a pic with the stock SCX wheels are tires? Just for referance. Thanks! "thumbsup"

'Course you can...
Here is some shots with the axial rims and proline flatiron.
They are a little longer out than the hpi rims with moabs.
And the moabs is a little wider than a "normal" 1.9 wheel, so with the flat iron on hpi rim, the wheels would be not so much outside the body...

Thanks for the body off pics man... I kinda figured the box has to be cut up a bit to make it to work.. But great mounting! Also what did you make the tonnue cover out of? PM me with the details on what you used and how you mounted it.. I love the idea!

Thanks again :)
The bedcover is a quite simple construction.
I used a thin aluminium plate, cut it to the right size and dressed it with a leather type material, folded it around the edges of the plate, and glued underneath. so it's loose on top, like a tarp.
And I used a standard hinge and bolted it to the bed.
Quite simple, but really nice I think :)

that's exactly how i'd like my scx to look, and i've been toying with the idea of painting it that same color scheme as well to match my pajero, but i'm wondering if it would be strange to have two cars essentially the same color. as someone that doesn't really have the materials (or the skills) to fabricate my own mounts, is there any reason you didn't just drill holes in the body to line up with the body posts above the shock hoops?

The reason for me not mounting the body on the original posts is because the body will be sitting a bit high for my taste, but there is not a problem doing so...
Thanks for all the good words guys :)

Great looking truck. The weathering , rusty wheels and tire chains really set it off. A marked improvement over the new paint job! The camper shell also looks quit nice. BTW, did you make the chains or are they an after market product?
did u make that peice to mount the cab to the frame?

They doesn't have one in the store.
But maybe you could get one custom made...
Or just shorten one for yourself.
