Hello all, I've just finished building my SCX-10 and need to get some electrics (I shoddily rigged mine up with old circa 1995 electric ST gear to play temporarily lol)

I want a trail rig with moderate wheel speed and long battery life

I have read up some and think this will be suitable please let me know if i'm wrong here:

1 -Integy 45T pro matrix lathe motor single

(should I go with 35T instead?)

2 -Castle Sidewinder sport ESC

3- Duratrax 4600maH battery 6C 7.2V
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXVBD0&P=K
(better to get 2 batteries @ 3000maH? how long of runtime do y'all
get?)

sorry so long, don't want to order wrong stuff, thank for your expertise...

IMO...always best to buy the best you can the first time....

Good Radio DX3r, Mamba Max (sidewinder's BEC very weak), any 45 turn, and a great servo like JR8711 (other hi-torque also good, try for 300 +- ft/lbs, you'll be happier) As for battery, those will work well and prob a good 45 - 60 min run time. I prefer Li-po's now easier to deal with IMO. Hope that helps, your going to get a ton of other suggestions, so take notes. HAVE FUN!! 8)

The ESC will work just fine. Since you mentioned you want wheelspeed, try looking at a 35T motor and something in the 7 cell plus range. You'll probably be a little disappointed in wheelspeed with a 45t on only 6 cells.

As far as battery life, I get 45 minutes out of a $20 6 cell 3000 NiHm spinning a 35t.

For the best power and battery life I would go with the novak goat. I saw it on rcp (i think) for $165.00 Way better wheel speed than a 35 turn and better battery life than a 55 turn."thumbsup"

Im running the sidewinder and integy 45t with a 3600 wolfpack and the wheel speed is probably too slow for most, but I like it that way. Runtime is in the 45-50 minute range depending on how hard I run it.

I'm running a Tekin FX-R 55T combo with stock gearing and a 3300 radioshack battery( $27.99 ) and getting at least 60-70 minutes of run time, the wheel speed sucks and is snail slow.... but very happy with run times..
