ive had my creeper built for almost 2 weeks now, and the wait was killing me. im waiting on my pack from cpb.com, and my sterring servo. im going to tennessee for vacation with my little girl, and of course, all my parts will be here while im gone. talk about goin crazy. so today i went scrounging. yanked the sterring servo off of my t-maxx, which is about a joke, nowhere near enough torque. but it turns the wheels. went out to the barn, and found a 6v dc battery from a paslode air-nailer. soldered a plug on, charged it up, and holy crap, it worked. im sure that i will be amazed when my 8.4v shows up, but i crawled all over the house before that sixxer died. im absolutedly amazed. articulation is awsome, and climbs like a goat. speaking of which, my goat crawler system works awsome. hill brakes are freakin cool. i just switched from nitro to electric, so im still amazed by the little things. lol. my only problem now is my set screws on the drive shafts keep coming loose. i think im gonna drill a hole in all the shafts, and tap the holes in the driveshafts out so i can use the ones from my old t-maxx shafts. you know, with the pin going all the way thru the shaft to the other side. anyways, the battery is charged up again, so im gonna go play! later, devon

I found that anabolic thread lock on the setscrews hold them in place, also the traxxas stampede metal u-joints fit perfect along with the stampede driveshafts.

well, finally got to do some crawling. my battery got here, and wow! those guys at cpb.com are freakin great! more voltage kicks ass!@!!! lol. i decided to get a different servo than the one i had ordered.... im gonna get that new hitec titanium geared one that does 416 oz/in at 7.4v. so i have to get a bec too. i cant beleive how kickass this crawler is... im gonna have to get bigger rocks. i found a concrete dump back by the creek on my farm, looks like a busted up foundation. that should give me some big chunks. lol. thank god for bobcats. lol. i'll be posting up some pics as soon as possible. only camera i have is my cell phone. lol. gonna have to borrow my girlfriends... maybe i can talk her into takin some pics. i might have some new recruits. lol. i cranked the throttle down and let my 4yr old and her 3yr old drive it around the yard. they loved it. so of course i had to let the girlfriend drive it.hopefully i can get them all involved with my hobby. i could crawl all the time then... by the way, if you ever go to tennessee, TAKE YOUR CRAWLER!!!! i didnt have mine, but i was almost drooling the whole time. lots o rocks. lol. later, devon

Hiperbeast,
I put a dab of
shoe goo on the drivelines
where the pins are and it works fine.
Other guys have put a piece of
shrink tubing on also and this
works good also.

the shoe goo idea would probably have worked for me, if i hadnt been driving it like a dumbass. lol. i just switched from nitro monster trucks, and am having a hard time not going full throttle and just letting off. lol. damn hill brake. lol. i ripped my original driveshafts apart. the pin ripped thru the plastic, so scrap those. oh well, im learning. later, devon

update to whats goin on. i got some of the hardened steel yokes for a stampede, and some spare driveshafts. problem solved. i ended up going with the jr ds8711 servo, and it just plain kicks @SS!!!! no more worries about turning. its a little pricey, but 403 oz/in of torque at 6v is great for me. lol. now i just have to rig up the rear steer and im ready for all kinds of fun.

its a pretty cool truck. it's pretty capable, and now that my driveshafts arent poppin off every ten min, im having alot more fun. and venoms customer service is pretty damn good. i blew my diff gears, pm'ed chris from customer service, got a reply in less than two hours. thats pretty quick. if you get one, definitley spend the money on a good servo. i blew 3 cheapies up before i got the jr. couldnt be happier with it. later, devon
