I tore apart one of those wcc silverados today. I also took apart my 1/6 crawler and came up with an idea for a crawler/off-road truck. It will have a good crawling ratio as well as second gear for some high speed trailing. Mainly just sumthing that can do everything. I will update with more pics as the truck comes along.

Well I haven't been able to get online because my phone line was busted. I did however get work done on the truck frame. I used about 20 feet of rod so far and will need at least another 2 to get it finished. I mounted the tranny with motors as well as the shifting servo. The main parts that need to be finished are the suspension link mounts and the shock mounts. Then it will be test driven before I take it all apart again for paint. The body will recieve some minor changes and a sweet paint job. I also came up with a name "Hellfire", here are some pics for now..............

I think the truck looks awsome, but a suggestion if I may. Since you are going for a scale look, I would suggest that you redo the "roll bar" in the bed of the truck with bigger tubing/rod. Just a suggestion. Keep up the good work man.:):)

That would greatly depend on what he's scaleing it to. ;-) If he's scaleing it to a actual wheeler that gets used with a REAL roll bar and cage, the scale looks fine to me. If he's scaleing it to a show queen with a gay *** schmitty built triple tube chrome roll bar that as useless as tits on a boar hog, then yes he needs to go up in size.
I think the scale of it is just fine, keep up the good work.

I am going for a kinda scale look, but I am not worried if something is not perfectly to scale. Thanks for the input though...............Aaron

Well I got the truck running on friday. It handled great, so I took it all back apart again to start smoothing the welds and to paint the frame. I took some pics before hand so here they are............

The body will also be painted, but I haven't decided exactly what graphics it will have on it yet. It might take a little while for me to decide. I am pretty sure it will be a wild paint job. I will update again as it comes along............Aaron

Hey Milkman, Your 1/6 scale tuber inspired me to build my own LARGE scale tuber. Just bought a gasless wire welder today to try to start my own project. But now, seeing your new truck. I am thinking about scraping the full tuber and building a large truck bodied project. Which one did you like building the best? I do not want to copy your work by any means. I am not that skilled yet. Just wanted your opinion. Thanks. Wayne

I would say stay away from exotic designs but go with a very bright eye catching color. I always liked bright orange and bright green. Just my $.02 though. Looks great man.

Mulchman...........I would just go with a full tuber because it is easier to do. You can make it any size you want and don't have to deal with a plastic body fitting over it. Also making a scale rig is more expensive because of the body.
The main reason I got rid of the tuber and started this project is because I get bored really fast.............Aaron
