I have a 4x4 wheely king that I just upgraded the chassis and trans to a axial ax10 chassis, and trans. I'm using the wheely king axles. I seem to be having a slight issue with the drive shafts. Does anybody know what I would need to get the Axial trans to properly hook up with the wheely king axles. Any experienced info would be greatly appreciated

I was doing the exact same build, but I decided to spend the 70 bucks and go with the axial axles. But if you want to all you need is the 6mm to 5mm adaptor to go on the WK axles and the axial drive shafts will hook up.

Thanks rotten belly....I ordered these today along with some other misc. items. That looks to be the mose bullet-proof option. Cant wait to get it finished so I can post some pics. I have been lurking around here alot lately so I guess its my turn to post some pics, but everybody on here has probably seen it all.

I used traxxas half shafts #1951 and traxxas yokes #4628. The yokes are the right size for the axial trans but you will have to drill out the yokes for the wheely king axles but its not that hard.

Can those yolks be used on the axial axle side? I'm trying to run Stampede axles on an axial axle and tranny.

I would assume so. it would go from 4mm to 5mm. This might be better answered by some experienced builders. So if your axial axles are 4mm with the adaptor it would be 5mm, not sure tho on what size the yolks for the traxxas pede.

I just want a bullet-proof drive train on this. Its going to be more for fun and bashing around than anything. Next ? I will have on this is whats a good steering servo to run, and steering linkage setup. I want to run a servo saver. I'll have to post pics here to show what I have right at this very moment.

The yokes i am using fit perfectly on the axial trans you just have to use the set screws on both sides of the yoke unlike the wheely king with the pin type set screw.

did same thing already, i wanted a decent dig unit. so i am running an ax10 trans with dna dig, and ax10 mip drive shafts. on the wk end of the shaft, you have to drill out the end of the mip shaft to 6mm. you will also want to add a 6mm washer or two between the drivshaft and pinion bearing. depending on you drivshaft legth, you may have to grind alittle off the mip splines. do some searching and measuring before ordering the shafts. also don't grind too much off the mip shafts, i found out the hard way that they are not fully splined. if you decide to go with the mips try here, they are premade for you.

Thanks. "thumbsup" That's what I'm doing with my stock axial axles right now. But I'm wanting to upgrade. ;-)

Thanks guys! That tmaxx shaft to stampede shaft...I didn't think that would work. I thought t-maxx shafts were a bit larger. That gives me other ideas if this other setup doesn't work. I think the plastic slider shafts should hold up for what i'm going to do with the rig. I'll post more on here when I have made further progress, but for now thats what I have. Now i'm starting to look into steering servos and steering linkage setups for the front axle, and I want to run a servo saver......any good ideas? Let me know! Again thanks!

If your going to keep your servo on the front axle then you need to spend the money and buy one that has a metal gears and out put shaft or when you hit something head on in to it youll break the out put shaft off.
I want to keep the steering servo on the axle like I have it now. I want to run a servo saver but I am willing to buy a really good servo, by the way whats recommended for a 2.2 crawler to accomodate the steering? I also need some experienced suggestions on steering linkages. I really like how this truck is shaping up.
