Here is the event you have all been waiting for. After working long and hard we have finally pulled everything together to pull off a huge event at the famous Red Rocks in Colorado.
This event will be held July 18-19 in beautiful Morrison, Colorado. This spot has some of the best terrain Colorado has to offer, you do not want to miss out on this competition.
Morrison, Colorado is in the foothills just at the base of the Rocky Mountains. It is located 40 miles from Denver International Airport, just on the west side of the City of Denver.
At this competition on Saturday we will be running the 2.2 competition class, this class will be limited to the first 80 registered drivers.
We have special rules in place for the Colorado guys in the 2.2 class, only the top 5 in the standings from the Crawlerado club, and the top 5 in the standings from the GrandJunction club can enter the competition for the first week of registration. If after the first week of registration there are still spots left then any Colorado drivers can enter.
This event will give out the FINAL invite for the 2009 Nationals, this is your last chance to get in, as there will be no buys in's this year. We will also write a check for $500 to the person that gets the invite to help them cover their travel expenses to the nats.
On Sunday we will be running the super class, Colorado has plenty of terrain to keep the supers challenged don't be scared and leave yours at home!
Sunday we will also be trying something fun and running a 2.2 unlimited class. The only rules in this class are that it can have no longer than a 12.5" wheelbase and you can only have 4 wheels/tires. Anything else goes. This class will be running the normal 2.2 class 16" wide gates. Let's see how creative you can be and what you can come up with for this class!
Registration will begin at 5pm mountain time on Tuesday May 12th, 2009 be ready the spots will go quick.
I will post another thread with travel and hotel info soon.

Ummm...I will have to check our event budget. We tried real hard to keep the event cost effective for the competitors as well as assure that we don't have to pay out of pocket for all the event expenses.
Did I mention that this event will have some of the best online coverage of any event so far?
Badger and I are going to spend all of our time running the live coverage while Patrick and Turtle focus on running the event. This should be a great event to get your sponsors some coverage.

Who all is sponsoring it ? Will they be there handing out stickers or something?
jason

We'll have trophies for the top 3 in each class. 2.2 winner will get the invite to the nats and the check for $500.
Everyone will get an event t-shirt, every entry gets a raffle ticket for the table full of prizes we'll have to offer.
Our title event sponsor is Vanquish Products, we haven't even tried to get any other sponsors at this time yet.
The plan for comp day is to leave the running of the event to Turtle and 666, and Badger and I will working together to provide the best live coverage we have ever done.

I got a dumb/newb question.
How many gates/courses will there be and who sets them up?
jason
05-14-2009, 11:42 AM
4 couses for each class, plus a finals course for the top 5 drivers. For the top 5 drivers your scores from courses 1-4 carry over into the finals. For everyone else you get a 50 on the finals course.
I would count on each course having 5 progress gates not counting the start of finish gate. Some courses may have another 1 or 2 progresses. Patrick, Turtle, Badger, and Myself will be setting the courses, neither of us will be competing. If I decide to compete in the 2.2 unlimited class, I will not set courses for that class.

You have a point there it will be nice not to hunt for a state liquor store and pay twice what most other states do."thumbsup"
Plus the Coors brewery is only 15 minutes from the comp site, you can take a tour on a lunch break. :)

Anyone want to bet when the 2.2 tickets will be sold out tonight? I'm guessing by 7:10pm

Question : If for some reason we buy a ticket/entry and something comes up , can we sell our ticket/entry to someone else ?
I don't see a problem with that. Jason what do you think?
As long as the person you sell your ticket to takes the same size shirt that you ordered that is fine. We order the shirts based off the initial ticket sales and will not be changing our order everytime someone sells their ticket.

I registered with every intention of attending, and SHOULD know 100% within the week. If I can't go , and it fills up I will defintley be interested in re-selling (no profit) back....XL shirt"thumbsup"
