HI All,
I'm really bummed to hear that some members here on the board are breaking CV's. I'm already in contact with our vendor to find out what is going on. In the mean time, as much as I wish I could read every post, I just can't. So Please, if you have any issues, concerns or questions Email me or PM me. I will be happy to try and help as much as possible.
Please believe that the last thing I would want is for anyone to think they are guenea pigs, my goal was to release a great product.
Again, I know that there are a few disappointed buyers and I feel terrible that some regret their purchase, but if you have ever dealt with me in the past, you know that I will work hard to rectify the problem to the max that I can.
Thanks again,
Rich

Almost 20 years of racing Losi stuff and in the same years Horizon has always been there on the money everytime. No doubt about it. Great truck with a few small issues.
thanks again!!

I'm not worried about it really and know things will get worked out, my only issue is I don't want to buy replacement parts just to find out there from the same batch that came in these kits.. I've broken more then I can swallow in one day. I'm not looking for a handout, just something that will work. My biggest issue is having lost the pins in the driveshafts. My luck the CV rebuild kits will be backordered before I manage to get a set in just like what happened with my past purchases (MRC and MLST)
I love losi, but its getting alittle frusterating

I still have faith in this truck. Side note: Hey Rich maybe the next time you guys have a new truck, you guys can ask me to drive it. I'm a noob that don't know much about off roading so I think I might dish alot of damage to find weak points"thumbsup"

Rich, how many were broke during testing? What are these CVD's made of? I was missing screws and set screws on my drive shafts. How soon can we get new CVD's?

....and why didn't the testers have any issues with the CVDs. I thought that they ran the rigs through the ropes.......

The Losi rig broke at ECC 3 times I believe. CVD's were an issue as far as I heard.

Not saying that they didn't, but they just never mentioned anything catastrophic like a CVD.

Being able to claim the most turning of any other production truck has a price. I believe durability was sacrificed for the extra turning ability:oops:

You're probably right as corporate more than likely said no to using a different material that could take the stresses at those angles.

How true. Most of my CVD breaks have occured at tight turns under power. I'm running 45 degrees of steering in both my rigs, I just snap pins when going straight, but turn it all the way and the ball-busting commences!

I broke 1 CV at ECC. The other issue was a loose motor plate moving and tearing up my spur gear.
Most of my CV breaks were due to the pin sliding out of place and catching on the axle C or knuckle.
I have only broken 2 CV shafts since ECC, in 6 comps. Both of them were in hard falls on the front end with the wheels turned full lock. I know I've put mine through a lot more abuse then what I'm seeing break shafts.

Maybe the kits use a different material than the test units? They seem to be breaking pretty easily.:?

The material simply isn't there ....to get 45 degrees the neck has to be skinnier than it does if less steering was required.

If you need it to be that small of a diameter then you have to go with a stronger material to handle the stress with a correct safety factor.
