So after getting my rig a couple weeks ago and getting everything set up and together I headed out for my first comp this past weekend and was a little out of practice and didn't have a set up that worked great on our course so I decided to make a couple minor changes.
Before

After
http://i318.photobucket.com/albums/mm415/Altered_Images/RC%20Crawlers/LBJ02.jpg
I had my TLT based Bastard JR sitting on my bench and it only took 5 seconds to decide to blow apart my new rig to stuff it all in the tuber. I only had to fab up a couple bent 16ga stainless adapters and drill one pair of holes in the chassis to mount everything up. I did also install a spacer under the dig servo to clear the horizontal bar on the chassis. I haven't had a chance to run it yet, but if it even only performs as good as the TLT based rig I'll be happy.
Feel free to ask any questions, and comments are always appreciated.

Thatnks for the comments. Right now I'm running a 14t pinion and the motor temps out about 120-130 degrees. Everything actually fit in the frame a lot easier than it did with the AX10 tranny. Also the frame isn't tweaked, that's the way it's designed based off the full size rig. And lastly No the green body is not for sale, unless you want to buy me another comp crawler so I can have two! :)

nice!
I've been looking at the Bastard jr. on my table and wondering if it would all fit. It looks like you had to remove a cross brace in the chassis?
Get that thing out on the rocks and see how it crawls "thumbsup"

Thanks! I didn't have to remove any of the bracing on the chassis at all. I was suprised when it just fit in w/o any problems, especially the ESC under the "Hood". It will be on the rocks tomorrow for some testing.

It seems to be a good set up motor wise. I did make some program changes to the ESC last night which I'll see what happens tomorrow, but basically I reduced motor timing and increased the initial throttle response. The ESC is on the bottom of the tray b/c there really wasn't any other place to put it w/o making a custom mount attached to the chassis. I don't see why it would be a big concern since it's surrounded by the 4 link bars and drive shaft and I don't run it anywhere near water.

I'll be at BFG on Sat, but only racing off-road. I wasn't planning on having LBJ with me, but since you asked I'll make sure and remember to bring it.

Ok - I was finally able to get LBJ out on the rocks, thanks to Rich and some new CV Shafts! I was the only guy from our club out at the time since it wasn't a comp day, but based on the lines I was able to pull off I would have to say it worked like a champ. I don't think that it will outperform a CCR with a stock chassis and good setup, but it looks 8), so that's all that counts right? I still need to experiment with upper link positions and wheel weights to see what happens but overall I'm extremely happy with it. We have a new outdoor course in the works and that's where all of my testing was done.
Setup
*Overall weight - 6lb 4oz
*RCP Droop springs, 60wt oil, #56 pistions (Red)
*Comp Claws w/ 1-1/2 losi mem foam & 6oz weight front, standard grey rear inserts & 4oz. (Tried my white Rovers but like these better.)
*17.5 w/ 14t pinion. Four runs of about 10 min. made and motor temps between 120 & 150. (will be switching to a 21.5 for better low end grunt)
*Excelorin setup - no drag break, high initial accel, lowest brake setting, 100% reverse, and low timing.
On to the Pics!
The coolest part of the club being next to a concrete plant? A free outdoor course!

Did you try a 12T pinion with that motor?

I got to get out to Battle front soon. That outdoor corse looks sick. Very nice LBJ man."thumbsup"
Freakin SWEET ....8)"thumbsup"
i cant wait to do this, been thinking about it for a while now,
what made you use the orig. links? (vs. bent?)
does it seem like the link setups/length, with droop still seem to get hung up when breaking over angles, climbs.. more than your previous crawler?
while i was scheming this idea, i thought about using the orig. links but decided that i wanted to use shorter bent links, and get a delrin skid, guess im still skeptical of using the losi links, (bottoms) What do you think?...
great info on the esc and motor thanks!! ill wait for the 21.5 system."thumbsup"

Ease of changing it back to factory chassis and not a lot of clearance to the drive shafts at full compression (ride height).

I would say less than the TLT b/c of the increased axle clearance of the worms. Yes it does bottom out on break overs, but doesn't get snagged up. I've increased to 8oz in the front wheels to help drop the front end better on break overs.

Honestly something I never thought about. But I'm not sure how much of a bend you could put in the links before it gets into the drive shaft at full compression.

I'm looking at a 21.5 as well. The 17.5 works fine, but just doesn't have the torque a 21.5 does. And I don't want to gear down and lose wheel speed.

have you gone MOA yet ? did it fit in the B jr. ?

please dont go moa. bad idea in the pocket. i like the way you went with it. i was thinking of doing a custom tuber for mine but i am staying lexan for now. i use the comp claws and they are awsome to dig with the foams they come with.

I did go MOA, but not with this chassis, yet. Dual 45T's (puller 500's on the way), 8T pinions, DNA wheels, Blue Rovers w/ Pro-Line 2-stage foam and dig switches setup to cut power to the motors instead of dead short. And I'm experimenting with a full droop setup this weekend.
Without taking a dremel to the BJr chassis and cutting off the front lower portion I can almost count on it not fitting. So I haven't had the balls to do it yet.
Not going MOA with the LCC is in my opinion the dumbest thing you could do. In fact one of our club members was wanting to get rid of his until he drove mine, and was on the phone to Eritex as soon as he got home to order one!
Thanks for standing up for us MOA guys Kenny!
Here are the MOA Pics.

the cost off money involving wasting it on dig switches. buying all the extra set off electronics. i drove it and saw no difference. my friend had one. he drove mine then switched back and put the extra elec into a scaler. to me its a money thing and its no problem if you set it up right the shafty way. i found a good setup for mine and its just worthless to me to even think about buying the moa kit when i drove it and saw no difference. i posted my setup as a suggestion to a new buyer of the losi in one of these postings.
Wow I like how that looks
that looks cleaner than i thought it would. Do the motor mounts flex on the plastic axles housings or is it stong?
after i posted my first question a thought i looked like a loser b/c the Moa/losi Would never work with the B jr.
thank you for the speedy feed back "thumbsup"
Oh and last question how do you like the droop with the losi? i have not seen mane people run the droop with the stock chassis

crawlingman9000 - Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, just don't hijac someone's thread telling them what to do. Unless your paying for my rig, why do you care? Is the LCC competitive w/o the MOA conversion? Sure, I think the Losi team guys have proven that.

The motor mounts are bulletproof, at 1/4" thick and they suck a lot of excess heat from the motors. I haven't seen any flex in the axle housings either. The real test will be next week when the pullers get here.
The droop setup I ran didn't work very well. With the extra weight of the mounts and motors and battery on the axles it was way too soft. I only had med. droop springs, and was running 60wt oil with red pistons. So maybe if you use stiffer droop springs and thicker oil it would be better, but not sure if it would be better than the fully sprung setup. I switched from 45wt to 80wt oil with the stock shocks and it seems to work pretty good.
Thank you for the info
I am thinking of geting a lcc but have only seen one in person
