So I bought the crawlerx front axle steering servo mount because the plastic swivle on the axle end was twisting under pressure so I could only turn one way.
Now that I have it all setup I can turn both ways but my turning radius is like 20ft.
The servo doesn't rotate enough to use the full steering. Nothing is hitting, its just the servo doesn't push or pull far enough when turning.
I have 5-6mm space one side and 3-4 mm space on the other before it hits.
When its off I can turn it by hand and get it to hit the knuckle, and the servo will move around that much, but when its powered it only turns so far.
Hope this makes sense and thanks for any help.

What kind of radio are you running? Can you give it more steering rate?
Or adjust your epa's?

If you're using the stock servo, it may not be strong enough to give you full steering throw if it's been used in the stock location for a while. Take the steering arm off and see if the servo has any more range of motion while not attached. Also, you may want to look into a longer servo saver, which will give you increased steering throw.

I got mine from Crawler X.
It was like 15 bucks w/shipping. Good quality, no fitting problems.
So pretty much I need a new radio and servo to get better steering...

You probably don't have to get a new radio it wouldn't hurt, but just a high torque servo will do just fine. I run a Hitec HS-645mg ultra torque retails for $35 lifetime warranty"thumbsup"

Yea unfortunately the stock servo doesnt do too well on an soa set up, if you get the hitec make sure you have an aluminum servo horn, it stripped my plastic one when I got binded. If you dont do competitions, you could always put 4 wheel steering, "thumbsup" Then your steering radius would be a couple inches. If you do comp, throw a rear dig on it.

i also have this problem, yet i have a hitec 645mg servo and when i first put it on my axle servo mount it turned fully both ways but now it only goes like half way each turn as in the servo stops then????
thanks!
P.s also i have a design that a top plate (rectangle) bolts down by 4 bolts on each corner and acts as a clamp, clamping down the servo if that helps any?

guys is the duel rate truned up on your radios? if so i would look an see if something has it in a bind. try turning it an an holding turned an turn off the radio an then see if u can turn it more by hand to see if it bound up on something. or unhook the rod from the servo horn an see if it will trun the horn more with it unhooked

Got to page 11( Look at part 5) of the manual and check your steering dual rate.

If that is turning up all the way and you are still not getting full throw, and nothing is binding up you most likey need a better radio system. Something that you can set endpoints on would be your best option."thumbsup"

Just be careful with that. If you have it trying to turn further than the servo can turn it will burn out the servo fast. The stock servo might be ok but if you put in a different one check it often to see if its getting hot, then you can tell if its being overdriven!!
Back in the day i burned up a couple servos super quick before i knew what was going on.
Thats were a radio with end point adjustments is worth its money!"thumbsup"
