what charger are you using?

I'm in the market for a new one. one that will charge rx packs as well.

I was looking at the Super Brain 969. What do you think?

I'm still using my 959 Superbrains and still love them. For the price I couldnt ask for more. I get an occasional false peak but not very often. 8)

I use a Duratrax Intellipeak Digital. Not sure if it can do Rx packs though. You might look at the Pirahna Digital too.

I use a Integy 16x3 charger, IMO they are the best quality. I use it to charge everything I have from AA's to stick packs.

I had a Super Brain 969, and recently gave it to my friend. The charger did a GREAT job at peak charging everything from rx packs to sticks packs. I knew I only had to charge a battery once because it detected the peaks very well. Being able to charge mutliple batteries at the same time was extremly nice.

My main issue with the charger was:
It's max output 4.5 amps when connected to AC. 6 amps when connected to DC, so if you were to charge two stick pack at the same time you could do one at 4.5 amps (max) and the other at 1.5 amps. Or both channels at 3.0 amps.

I am going to buy a new charger as well, (I like having two chargers) and was looking at the "INDI 16X7v6 1-8 Cells AC/DC Computerized Charger with 30A discharge (110V)"

I almost bought one on ebay for $117.00.

Triton.

Love it.

I just wish it had a higher discharge capability and could be powered by AC as well.

I just ordered a Piranha Digital this afternoon. I've been using a Hobbico 905 for years, got it in a combo deal. Had to feel the battery pack getting warm to know it was peaked. 8O

We used to have twin Super Brick 959's, but one blew a huge diode and we haven't replaced it (bro opened it up and found diode bits). They've held up pretty good (with the one exception), and work great for our 2400-GP3300 packs. However, they have always had a hard time with my 2150mAh transmitter batteries, and false peak right before they'd be done.

Before the 959's, we had a Black Widow......utter piece of crap. Stupid thing would false peak every single time, get both the charger and pack flarking hot, then emit nasty smelling "hot electronics" whenever it was used.

I have 3 Duratrax Intellipeak Deluxe Pulse Chargers and one Duratrax Twin Pulse Charger. I have no complaints with them. False peak every once in a while. They can also do many types of packs. I charge everything from my aa's to my 3300 packs on them.

Dang Badger, That is one great price on that charger. (as long as it is in good shape) I can't even get them that cheap at dealer cost.

I plan on gettin a
*INDI 16X9v6 1-10 Cells AC/DC Computerized Charger (110V&220V)
but that probably won't be for a while.

Yeah I should have bought it. Integy was the seller on it and they said it was slightly used for 3 months and would still carry the full warranty.

I want to get the same charger you want but it is so damn expensive. What can you sell the INDI 16X9v6 for?

I wish I would have seen that on E-bay. Oh well, ya can't get all the deals.

As far as that charger, INTEGY's retail price is $260 I believe. I would be willing to go to $220 for it. (plus shipping) :D

i use a triton also. it's the most capable charger, but for more advanced users because it has so many options. But with it you can charge any type of battery out there, NiCd, NiMh, Li-Poly, Lead Acid. and it has tons of features and safeties.

I use a Super Brain 969 Pro. I love it except the power supply went out. I can still charge off of 12V for now, untill I get my ps back. Charges just about any battery.

i bought the INDI 16X7v6 and it's a great charger.got it for $120 used.the guy i bought from runs a hobby shop and sold it to a customer and used it 2 or 3 times and returned it and he resold it for this price for him.good deal for me.it looks new and never false peakes.my advise for the super brain 959 is to stay away,it's a hit or miss unit.any one i talked to about those either worked good or is garbage like the one i bought

I had a 959 and it blew a diode also. Paid 20 bucks shipped it back. A couple months later it blew again and I said forget it I'm not sending it back. I traded it to a buddy of mine he got in contact with MRC about this problem. Mrc has great tech support helped my buddy alot and even sent him the diode so he can replace it himself. not sure if diode was free or if he give him part number and my buddy went to radio shack. Mrc said that the problem had been fixed on the 959 since mine was the first batch out. It now works great BUT IF YOU GET ONE MOUNT SOME TYPE OF FAN ON IT. Since they have great tech support I now own a 969 and it does everything. I like this charger so much I am gonna sell my reedy quasar.
