Well, its almost finished, just need to mount the electronics and figure out a body. Here are some pics!

Now thats narrow! A hair under 1.75" to be exact. Stock is 2" wide with this chassis, I curved the inner sides of the TVP's to match the curve of the output gear part of the WK trans, and Clearanced the areas where the trans bolts are. Looks like a performer!
Oh, and I threw it on the scale with everything that is left to finish it off, and it came out to 4lbs 13 oz. That is with 3 oz added to each front wheel. "thumbsup"

Very nice 4x, very nice indeed. Love the narrow mod you did to take it a step further
With a few small changes (to the link mounts mostly) this chassis is going to continue on through BWD "thumbsup"

Thats great news Don! This chassis shouldn't even be called a chassis, its more like a conversion kit, it came with a ton of stuff!

Thanks man, I'm looking forward to running it. "thumbsup"
Mean looking, and I like it! Take a guess at what body I'm going to tell you to get.... a Chevy C/10 of course."thumbsup"
Haha thanks man. I like the looks of the C-10 but can't get over the non slam-ability of that body. Still up in the air on what body though, although I do know it will be all black!

You should read what the designer of this chassis (BWD) said in his post above. "thumbsup"
i never liked the WK
but..............I LOVE THIS ONE
good job on the rig

Shelby let me take this for a test drive today and I am really impressed how well it performs! It blows my comp rig away. Thanks Shelby for the test drive and congrats Don on a great conversion kit!

So how did you like it?

It absolutely rocks! The skid I'd very narrow and very short, meaning there isn't much of a skid on the rig at all! This is awesome because even at the 2.75" GC that I'm at, I can make some tough breakovers. I curved the bottom of the TVP's where they meet the tiny skid, and when it gets hung up, you can get it to shimmy over to one side, hook up, and get over the ledge. I honestly think this is one hell of a chassis and makes the WK a contender again. I have very little if any torque twist, and that is with running the same gears front and rear. It is stable even with my very light wheel setup. All that I need to do is switch to some softer springs (the losi whites are too stiff!) Possibly some better quality shocks, put some overdrive gears in the front, and this rig will be a comp killer! Oh ya, still need to figure out a body, right now I'm thinking an axial XC-1. At the comp yesterday I set it up with the stock WK body, makes is a "sleeper" rig!

He shaved them to use on another rig (so they wouldnt rub the links).....they seemed to work well this past weekend!

I cut the inners to clear the shocks on my berg. Then I noticed that the sidewall near the tread flexed better, so I trimmied them on both sides. I like the way they work, the sidewall seems to flex more near the tread than the rim. I am going to trim the rears now. Also, I never had a single problem with sidebite on all the cougars that I have ran, so it doesn't feel like much of a trade off. "thumbsup"

I am enjoying mine. I built a homemade rig for my son with the tranny sideways and it outcrawls mine on the incline test. So i am going back to testing different shock setups.

Damn, well that sucks. However all is not lost, I believe they can still be purchased from the manufacturer, or whomever the company MPI is. I'm glad I have stocked up on them either way though!

Thanks man! The chassis is sick and the whole rig is really narrow and light. Once I get some better shocks and some Losi gray springs on it, it will be dialed!

Do it!!! You will not regret it. The chassis is more of a "kit" it includes a lot of nice parts for a great price! "thumbsup"

Don at BWD has said he will be bringing this chassis back shortly with a few minor changes. This chassis could be the WK's salvation from eternal "basher" status.
How much were these chassis kits and would I need a PayPal account to buy it?

Sorry I've neglected this build, I let my girlfriend drive it and well....its her rig now. 8)
But there are some updates in store for it, it got a nice new lid and new rolling stock. I have been pretty slammed with finals lately, but I should be able to get back to this one in about a week. "thumbsup"

Well I finally got around to working on this rig some. "thumbsup"
I gave it to my girlfriend, and told her to pick out some wheels and a body for the rig. Well, I must say she has some killer taste because her rig is now cleaner looking than any 2.2 I've had.

We picked up the body from Exesivefire, and it is impeccable. The body is sick. Then, we lucked out that DNA was selling off some old stock and got the matching wheels. We were really stoked to find out the color of the wheels and paint is almost a perfect match. I need to get some outdoor shots to do this rig justice.
Also, she is rolling Crawler Innovations dual stage foams and HB rovers white compound.
Next I am ordering some aluminum trans gears to replace these POS stock gears, and a set of axial underdrive gears for the rear axle. 8)

You gonna sipe those rovers for her? Or was that a tactical move on your part to leave them uncut?
