mrwonderful
02-03-2006, 11:49 AM
First I need to get the tubing. And i thought you were going to give me that "RockCrawling for Dummies" book. Whats up?

CoreyK
02-03-2006, 06:17 PM

I would definatly would be up for it. If its in danielson then i would have no excuse for not going. Rock on!!!

fullmodtxt
02-06-2006, 07:47 AM
Burger, I'm figuring that the Old Furnace place would be best for a February crawl because it is centrally located for everyone. We can all get there early (Except Kona!! Ha!) and then crawl till dark and still be home at a reasonable hour. If people are going to be driving 2 or 3 hours for a crawl, we should do it "in season" so that we have the most amount of daylight to make it worth the drive.

Anybody want to crawl somewhere else?

CoreyK
02-06-2006, 08:16 AM
I Asked my father, he said hed be up o bring me.....Hopefully i can find some wheels and tires....Anybody got any extras they wanna sell/loan for the crawl?? Id apreciate it..Oh and the Old Furnace Park was a blast last time!!!. Hopefully with my new rig ill be able to do the rocks you gys were doing.

mrwonderful
02-06-2006, 11:39 AM
. Hopefully with my new rig ill be able to do the rocks you gys were doing.
Well, most of us were doing anyways.

fullmodtxt
02-06-2006, 09:11 PM
Don't worry about Wonderful, he's doing a whole different kind of rock. Ever wonder why he's so skinny?????????? Corey, what tires/wheels are you looking for? Need stuff to run on TXT axles or something else? What did you do with the TXT you had in December?

CoreyK
02-07-2006, 06:30 AM
I need wheels and tires for clod axles.....lol, The TXT i had in december went bye bye

kona_joe
02-07-2006, 06:48 AM

CoreyK

02-08-2006, 05:35 AM
Those date are fine for me,

mrwonderful
02-08-2006, 12:50 PM

CoreyK
02-09-2006, 03:06 PM
So, is it going to be the 25th or 26th???

fullmodtxt
02-10-2006, 07:08 AM

CoreyK
02-10-2006, 07:14 AM
Either ones good for me.

fullmodtxt
02-12-2006, 11:26 PM
Burger, how much snow did you get out there? Somewhere between 1-2 feet here, can't tell because it's the light stuff and drifted all over.

Did our plans for a February crawl get snowed in?

burger0385
02-13-2006, 06:08 AM
The last time i heard it was around a foot. It should all melt this week.

mrwonderful
02-13-2006, 11:30 AM
Supposed to be high 40's all week around my place. Snow shouldn't last long.

CoreyK
02-16-2006, 05:15 PM
Snows almost gone:mrgreen: . Just to let you guys know i dont need extra tires now i bought some thanks for offering though. So what do you guys think? We will have it or not? Hope we do im itching to try out my new rig against some of ther shaftys:flipoff:

fullmodtxt
02-17-2006, 03:11 AM

mrwonderful
02-17-2006, 03:58 AM

CoreyK
02-17-2006, 07:22 AM

burger0385
02-17-2006, 10:21 AM
sunday would be fine for me. it would give me some time to work on my new axle design.

CoreyK
02-17-2006, 12:03 PM

kona_joe
02-17-2006, 03:37 PM

Hey Fullmod, did you talk to Trac95ker, is he planning on attending?

Joe

mrwonderful
02-17-2006, 03:42 PM
Oh, joe. I've been meaning to tell you. I forgot one of one of the parts of the wideners i gave you. Its one of the bolt things that holds the wheel on, it's name eludes me. I'll bring it then.

kona_joe
02-17-2006, 03:46 PM
Ok Cool! Thanks!

I should have my new torch setup working this weekend. How's your tuber coming along? Started bending anything yet?

Joe

02-17-2006, 04:06 PM

CoreyK
02-17-2006, 04:17 PM
WRX wed love to have you! The more people the better! Hope you can make it ;-)

mrwonderful
02-17-2006, 05:00 PM
Well, to be honest, I haven't even got the tubing yet. I ordered about 12' with a bender almost 3 weeks ago from straight length. They wont answer my emails and im starting to get a wee bit pissed. So tommorow, i'll be hitting up the local hardware stores again to see if they have any.

fullmodtxt
02-18-2006, 07:39 AM
Have we agreed on Sunday? I need to know, something came up. I bought a car, and it looks like I'll be picking it up on the 25th or 26th. I will do what I can to try to work out the pickup for Saturday if we are agreed on crawling for Sunday.

Kona, I've emailed Trac95 a few times, still waiting to hear from him.

mrwonderful
02-18-2006, 08:32 AM
was it that hick-mobile that you plan on racing? I might not be able to make it that weekend. We are having car troubles. But i should be able to.

kona_joe
02-18-2006, 04:48 PM
Sunday is fine with me

What time are we meeting 9am or 10am? I certainly don't want to be late :-P

02-20-2006, 09:17 PM
Do you guys plan on going to this spot once it gets a little warmer out? I'd love to check it out.

kona_joe
02-21-2006, 05:48 AM
Guys how do you feel about moving the get together out two more weeks? We could reschedule it for Saturday, March 11th ? This coming weekend is just not going to accommodate all of our members. We have a limited amount of members and I think we need to plan things so that the maximum amount are able to attend.

This way it gives everyone a little more time to adjust their schedules and perhaps a little warmer weather also. : - )

Joe

wrx-n-ktm
02-21-2006, 05:59 AM
I'll make sure I can go on the 11th:mrgreen:

fullmodtxt
02-21-2006, 06:16 AM
Kona, the 11th should work fine for me. I think we will be better off that weekend, for attendance and weather reasons. That December crawl was COLD! Took the whole drive home with the heat on to get rid of the chill I had from bieng out in 30 degree weather all day!

CoreyK
02-21-2006, 06:40 AM
Yea. I think the 11th woulkd be better....warmer, and more of us can get are rigs finished without being rushed!

burger0385
02-21-2006, 08:03 AM
Those dates would probably would be better. The more people that show up the better time we will have. Plus its spring break weekend:mrgreen: .

kona_joe
02-21-2006, 03:48 PM
I was looking at Nercc.net. Did u guys have a small get together the 17th this month?

No, those pics are from last year when we went to Lincoln Woods. They must have just been recently uploaded by a member.

Yeah, two weeks to get my junk ready.

Joe

CoreyK
02-21-2006, 03:52 PM
Oh i see!. Yep 2 more weeks to get the bugs worked out on my new rig.. And get my new radio!

CoreyK
02-21-2006, 04:23 PM
I was thinking. It mightbe cool to set up a comp. Shaftys and Clods in the same class. If we get alot of members to come itd be pretty fun! Lets see what everyone else thinks.

fullmodtxt
02-21-2006, 04:46 PM
Corey, we've never done any kind of "comp" stuff with classes or whatever. It's just not our style, and I see no reason to change things. We've been doing our thing for over 2 years now, and it works well for us. We just don't dig marking courses, setting rules, scoring, and the whole process. All of that stuff is time and effort that we'd prefer to spend crawling and finding a good place for lunch!

CoreyK
02-21-2006, 04:48 PM
Ok. Just sounded cool. Plus we dont have any real reason to do comps. We have enoguh fun just crawling!BTW Fullmod I like the new tuber look u did!

HotRodCJ
02-21-2006, 05:48 PM
can anyone attend these? i think i can make it that day. so its not a comp just a crawl? thats more my speed. anything coming up at lincoln woods?

CoreyK
02-21-2006, 06:10 PM
Yea not a comp just a crawl Still just as fun. Not sure about Lincoln woods have to ask Fullmod or Joe.

mrwonderful
02-21-2006, 07:05 PM
Lincoln Woods would be at least another month. And it would be a "bash." Besides, I dont think we even know what the "Almighty, Follow them or Burn in Crawler Hell" rules are.

mrwonderful
02-21-2006, 07:23 PM
No, those pics are from last year when we went to Lincoln Woods. They must have just been recently uploaded by a member.
Joe
Yeah that was me. I was scanning through my old files and decided to upload some.

fullmodtxt
02-22-2006, 12:23 AM
We'll certainly be doing Lincoln Woods again. It is a cool place, with lots of tricky crawling spots and great scenery. Everything we do is just a "bashing session" or whatever kinda crawl. Everybody is welcome! Don't worry about what you crawl with or anything. No rules or restrictions! Just throwdown and crawl!!!!!!!!! Oh, and bring spare parts.

fullmodtxt
02-22-2006, 12:27 AM
Wonderful, you don't need to worry about what those "burn in crawler hell" rules are. The novice class would apply to you, and the rules are very forgiving. Just read that "RC crawling for dummies 101" that you got on ebay and you'll be off to a good start.

fullmodtxt
02-22-2006, 12:34 AM
OK Y'all, date has been changed. There is no February crawl! Old thread should get moved into this one. March crawl is set for Saturday March 11th at Old Furnace State Park in Danielson CT. 10AM till whenever. We normally do not have transmitter frequency conflicts, but always have everybody post what they use anyhow.

I'm running FM 69.

CoreyK
02-22-2006, 03:06 AM

Anybody have more face paint? I used up all of mine doing no-rain dances last summer. And Wonderful, hold all comments or I'll sacrifice you to the rain gods. That is, if they'll even accept you.

If I carry you all the way up those steps and they throw you back, I'm going to give you a serious whoopin'.

hey im in western mass do you guys ever have comps closer to or in western mass? being only 15 its kinda hard to go to ones that are an hour and a half away? let me know if you will an time soon

mrwonderful
03-03-2006, 07:00 AM
We dont have comps, only get togethers. But as far as i know, right now we dont go out to Western MA. If you look around and find some good spots, we'd be more than happy to go over you're way.
Oh and Corey, my tuber isn't coming along. I placed an order for 12' of it in January, but never got it. I guess they didn't get the order. I'll get some more soon and start up on it. Shouldn't take long, it wont be very complicated.

But seriously now, I'm going to vote that we hold out untill a few days before the crawl to see if it is still most likely to rain.

Believe it or not, but it would be better for me to wait a little while. Two of my batts have just died, and another went MIA. Now I’m down to one that doesn’t always take a charge. But I may be able to get some for this week if we still want to go. And maybe we should make the 1 post rule...

OK yall, crawl is on for sure. Sadly, Kona_Joe can't make it. We'll draw straws to see who gets to take a dip in the water in your Honor, Kona. Wonderful, you are welcome to share packs with me if we are wired the same way. Perhaps others will lend a hand also? Or, you could just go buy more packs!!!! Ha!

So, 10AM at Old Furnace State Park. Please remember to check your frequencies just incase there is conflicts. I am on FM 69, but do not have any others to switch to. See y'all there!!!!!

I'm using powerpoles. But i found another battery, so when one is charging, i'll be using the other one. Not ideal, but it'll work.

NERCC Induction ceremony. HMMMMMMM.... I like it! Let's see.... Wonderful isn't really a new guy anymore, and he's scouted a location for us. He even bled for NERCC a few times. Made some vids too. Burger has shown a few times, scouted a location for us, and done some vid work.

Corey, it's not looking good! I hope you get LOTSA video footage tomorrow!

wrx, it's good to hear that you're bringing someone along. There may also be a few others attending who have not posted. We might get a good turnout! We'll still be missing Kona though, that sucks.

Well, I figured out what happened to my "waterproof" TLT. The Rx and ESC were fine, the motor was the problem. All I had to do was take it apart and clean it now it's as good as new. It's ready for some more underwater excursions:mrgreen:

Well, thats a relief. Some people run some sort of foam around the endbell to keep the crud out. Maybe a good idea for you?

I think I'll give it a shot. Hopefully at the next NERCC meet there will be water:mrgreen:

BTW how do I join NERCC????

mrwonderful
03-13-2006, 01:02 PM
You may be out of luck. As far as I know, there isn't any. And by join NERCC, do you mean the website or the "club"?

wrx-n-ktm
03-13-2006, 01:45 PM
The website. Or the club:lol: There is no water at the next meet?

CoreyK
03-13-2006, 02:17 PM
Well, i was told if you show up for the crawls when you can your a part of the "club". Go to www.nercc.net (http://www.nercc.net) and hit "join" then follow the steps.

WRX, if there is any water at the April crawl, it will be in the form of slippery sloppery MUD. We never really bothered discussing NERCC membership. The "initiation" thing was as far as we ever got, and it was a joke.... Maybe we're a bit too laid back?

I guess if ya show up from time to time, you're in! Heck, we had a guy from Seden, Switzerland, or some foriegn place like that join the website! It was aparrantly a long, strange trip for him. 1 hit too many there, boy! I'll get you setup with your own gallery and that kinda stuff on the NERCC website within a few days.
