CT Crawl June 11 at Lovers' Leap in New Milford, CT - FREE STUFF

Here's the skinny:
I'd like to see a GTG happen at Lovers' Leap in New Milford in the near future. Any takers? How about next Sunday, the 11th. The forecast is sunny and 77 degrees.

I'll bring free copies of the annual RC Monster Trucks magazine (has a big crawler article in it), free 1-year subscriptions to RC Car Action and free RC Car Action hats and stickers to anyone who shows up and crawls. I'd love to see a bunch of people show up. All you have to do it commit ahead of time, so I know what to bring.

I also have a custom painted (by Zegers) HPI Jeep body that I'll give away.

Directions:

> Tale exit 7 and follow to traffic light. Take right at light.
> Stay on this road and go through Brookfield and into New Milford.

> Take a right onto Still River Drive. There will be a NewMil bank on the right hand side.

> Follow this road through a 4-way intersection.

> This road turns into Pumpkin Hill and will take you over a river. Right after the bridge take a right and look for a dirt parking lot right in front of an old trestle bridge. Park here and walk up the trail to the rock crawling spot.

i just got directions on mapquest, it recognizes lovers leap as a state park, but the CT site doesnt list it wish i thought was weird. anyways i should be set on directions, if anyone needs help getting their mapquest the term "lovers leap state park" and itll come up with the correct address.

Bring as many packs as you can. I'm bringing four charged packs, but I doubt I'll run all of them.

I think we hung out in the pouring rain for about three hours. I'm guessing we can last at least that long on a bright sunny day.

im most definately down for the next crawl(if its close and my dad "feels" like it). I finaly did another rebuild since i broke a steering link so i made my steering BTA now. I just need to get new rims/wheels/rings but i have no mula so im running stockers and this glue aint comming off :(

i can probably go next time, if it is like 20-30 miles away from wethersfield, lol. It's your dad's call and none of my business, but (there's always a but)when I was in my early teens my dad used to drive me hundreds of miles to go to RC car races. We would go to any race that we could drive to. Flying to a race was off limits, but my dad was totally cool with driving my butt around and I'm pretty sure he had better things to do. Not to sound too dorky, but my dad's support played a big part in what I do now. More important, it was cool that we spent all of that time together.

Anyway, my advice for what it's worth (not too much if you ask my wife) is to not push him too much and he'll probably come around eventually. He probably has a lot to do and simply can't haul you an hour away. I'm sure he would if he could.

i might have a place that we could crawl at in newtown... LOOOOTS of rocks. very very challenging but really good at breaking parts... gotta clear it with the owner first. would probably be restricted to the 4 of us from today
