What do you think would be an all around better basher? I know all three are a bit different. I have a brushless e-maxx, but I barley touch it. I was thinking about parting it out and building a brushless truggy, but the 5B has caught my attention too now...

I'd go with the BL truggy, the 5b could get expensive WHEN you break it.

i'd have to say anything tamiya offroad or onroad. they are all built like tanks and can take HUGE impacts. about the only tam's not good for bashing are the serious race machines, but at the prices those go for, you WON'T bash those...

What Tamiyas are you talking about built like tanks? Terra Crushers and TNX's are only on par with maxxes for strength, which isn't that impressive. Even if they were tough, a 1/8 scaler is going to be much, much tougher. I bash a BL pede (mostly FLM), and I know a BL truggy would out bash it, the truggy would handle better, jump better and is 4WD.

Id say the keep the emaxx and bash it till it does break. BL truggies are bad *** but some work needs to into it to make it BL . I have the 5 B its the new wave of rc besides RCC so hope on that wagon.

first off, tera crushers sucked...
i run and race a TNX with truggies on a regular bassis, and still whoop 'em every time!!! if the TNX had a center diff in it (which mine does thanks to some creative modding and an OFNA doner from the LHS...) and 4 shocks instead of 8 (which once again, i modded mine to have...) it would basically be a truggy. there isn't any other pure monster truck out there that can keep up with a TNX on a track in my opinion, not even a revo.
and with the upcoming release of the 5.2 TNX, i think tamiya will have a stronghold on the pure monster truck class for while...

this is a no brainer, definetly the emaxx
durable truck with tons of replacement parts and hopups, also available at local hobby shops.

like i siad, it was my opinion, and i've tried all the others.... i guess i'm just a tamiya guy...:flipoff:
i prefer tamiya MT's, TC's, hell, i wish the tamiya TRF would make a 1/12th scale, i bet it would probabally be one of the best, if not the best in it's class!! but for now, i guess i'll have to settle for a CRC

I built the maxx pretty stout, UE chassis, FLM bulkless bulk heads, etc, etc,.
I know the truggy would take some work to get going. Depending on how much, depends on how long it will take for me to get to it. I have a few projects going and a few waiting to start, I dont want to start any more untill I can finish the ones Im on now.
So 5B owners, How do you like it? any down sides? weak points?

None of those options.

I would go emaxx honestly. Truggies can be very tough, but the parts are easy to get for emaxxes, and nothing beats an rpm/aluminum maxx build for toughness.

Plus if the RPM stuff breaks you can get it replaced for free.

You're not trying hard enough if you've not broken it. :)
