need some oppinions. i got an x factor off rcu a few days ago. it needs a new engine (probably just piston and sleeve, but the entire motor is in pieces, i dont trust the person that took it apart. ) i was thinking about puttin a new motor in it. i want to stay gas (so all you electric guys leave me alone :flipoff: lol ) do you think i should pick up another 24.7? what about the 24.7 pro? im short on cash so around $200 or less budget is what im going to end up spending
Thanks
Adam

the .247 is easily the best bang for the buck.
Of course, if you have the dough, a Sirio .27 or a C5 is good too.
The Pro is just one step better than the regular .247. If you can get a good deal on the Pro, go for it!
PS. I have lots of nitro .21 engines and bigger, experience. I still have a Sirio .21 and .27 waiting for a Savage or the new Revo.

haha, yes! i have th privlage of talking to the man himself. Dirk. Yea, im really thinking about the 24.7 pro. its already got a bigger cooling head on it, so im guessing overheating wont be as much of a problem. i know i can throw an aftermarket head on the std 247, but for the money they are about the same. the pro look slike its got some pretty nast porting work hehehe. thanks for the input though.
i think if i end up frying this motor down the road it will be time for electric x
dirk, first time i saw ur x factor i gave me some inspiration, i had to have one. especially seeing the real ones in person... absolutly bad ass. 4 wheelin especailly rock crawlin, is the best sport on the planet....

yea that new revo looks pretty neat for a race truck... i think traxxas is becoming the honda and toyota of rc. they make full size trucks " " with small block motors. tryin to squeeze every ounce of power out of them. kinda neat.
as far as the orion? i havent had any experiance with oriions gas motors. i really havent seen many orions in person. only one ive ever dealt with is the big block micro on my mini t. it seems pretty sweet. anyway. thanks for posting guys.. u all rock

For the X Factor I would suggest the 24.7, I have the Pro 24.7 and it has to much top end for the X. The stock was a little less hyper and was alot easier to control, as you have heard the X doesnt like to go fast in second gear. The stock version seems to me to have a little more torque at low RPM. Both motors are great and both tune very easy so which ever you buy they are both good to go!!!

i think im going to go to an electric setup. im going to most likely use dual mag mayhems, super rooster, and emaxx tranny and sliders.. probably do what diggler did and use a txt chasis.

If you're looking for torque in a nitro engine there was one a while back in the RCCA mag, .27 if i remember, but it put out something crazy like 3.1HP. Don't remember the company off hand though...
Just a thought... dont know if it would fit in the X-Factor
