How would I know if my factor has the upgrade kit in it?

I bought the truck used about 4 months ago and didn't know about the upgrade kit for the diffs. so how can I tell if mine is upgraded or not and I don't know how old the truck is. I stripped a ring and pinion and the teeth on the ring gear broke clean off and the pinion is tore up. I email global for the upgrade kit but got no response.
