Well with how popular the Type-3 chassis has been, I have decided to move forward with the production of the Type-3L (L - Long).
It's the same basic chassis design only water jet cut, lengthened (12" - 16.25") and graced with two more cross members for added rigidity.
I will still be offering the Type-3 (12") chassis at $55.00 shipped via USPS Priority Mail and I will continue making those by hand. I will be including the pede tranny holes, 2 shock position holes and body mount holes at no additional charge.
The Type-3L will sell for $70.00 shipped via USPS Priority Mail and will be water jet cut and will have again the pede tranny holes, 2 shock position holes and body mount holes drilled. It will also feature the center cutout for aesthetics :-). It will still build a 12" wheel based rig but will have the additional length for mounting front and rear bumpers to the chassis rather than the lexan body and will have plenty of room for mounting a winch, radio gear or whatever a guy may need.
Below is a teaser shot of one of the side plates for the new Type-3L chassis. I will post up my personal crawler running the new Type-3L with some front and rear bumper mounts, and a winch plate.
PRE-ORDERING
Currently I am waiting for the materials to arrive for the chassis's so I will be offering a pre-order sale. This will be on both the Type-3 and Type-3L chassis's. The costs of the chassis's will be $50.00 shipped for the Type-3 and $65.00 for the Type-3L chassis's for all those that pre-order by Aug. 13th.
Stay tuned for more images and details.

Well I finally got some time set a side to do a little work on my personal Type-3L chassis. I've got it mostly finished with the exception of mounting the electronics. I built the chassis so that a plate of lexan could span from one delrin brace to another creating a large platform for any battery/electronic combo a guy could come up with.
This chassis happens to be one that I've hand cut but the production chassis will look like the teaser shot above.
Enjoy!

a few more.....
As you can see there is a lot of potential. I tried to make a chassis design that will allow a builder to customize the chassis to his/her liking. With the ability to mount bumpers to the chassis rather than the body a guy can customize any bumper to any body with very little work.
It's clean, simple and cheap :-)

Look closely and you can see a brass eyelet where my winch line will feed through the front delrin brace.
Don't forget that all pre-orders made before Aug. 13th get the Type-3L chassis for $65.00 shipped!

Looks good, but I still like me type3 a little more, just because of the topless shots look better, but I love the idea of a winch platform and the usage of bumpers!
I also think you should get a nickname for your chassis'.

Out of all the names given I would have to say that Pinchflat's was by far the best. Okay the piss yourself funniest, however since where partners and I'll never hear the end if he wins I'll choose another close 2nd.
To be honest I wanted a name that both described who makes it and what type it is. With that said...I like Unimoger's name the best.
Plain and simple
K2-3L " Kaetwo type 3 long "
K2-3S " Kaetwo type 3 short "
So with that said Unimoger will get a K2-3S for $1.00 shipped. It won't be as elegant or trick as the B-51 but I hope he'll make room for one in his collection.
Congratulations Unimoger and thanks everyone for helping me out with a name.
Now everyone buy a K2-3S and K2-3L :-)
