We expect to ship this shocks early or mid next month.

We are also working on a new super realistic looking 2.2 wheel, stay tuned for more updates...

looks interesting, how about some specs on it? length and diameter etc

The very first one will be 120mm long, 20mm diameter, 40mm travel.

Shorter and longer one will be made afterwards.

have pricing? im more then interested, and in the wheels, as ugly as they are white spoke steel wheels would make a great lookin crawler wheel!

Say what? 20mm is 3/4 inch! You might want to mic that again.

yes, it is 20mm. At first I was thinking more making them for clod size crawler truck. So it will look very beefy.

Tell me what you guys are looking for, I will see what I can do...

I may be intersted for a TLT build I'm looking into. I'm assuming the are oil shocks?

aluminum i assume?
will you be producing a plastic version as well? ie less cost?

white wagon wheels, my personal fav. they're not that ugly are they? http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/5/web/689000-689999/689458_16_full.jpg

If a TLT sized shock was available, I would build a scaler just to use them. It's about time somebody did this!

wow even for a clod that's big, id say no more O.D. than 1/2"

My shocks on my 1967 Honda CB140 are just a little bigger around then those:shock:.

Way to big, even for a clod or jugg.... I would like to see 12mm shocks for the clods and juggs, and 8mm shocks for the tlt's.

I don't like them. I don't run shocks like that in real life. They look like cheap factory shocks. FUGLY Why don't you make a real looking Coil-Over with Res or a Real looking Offroad shocks. Like these. These are want are ran in real life for a scale trail rig.

For real scale appearance, a longer Mini-T shock would be ideal. But those things leak worse than TLT shocks, and they're nowhere near strong enough; the shafts are only 2mm.

What about a longer version of the Sand Scorcher shocks? 8mm OD with a 3mm shaft, with rubber bushings at each end, or ball links. 8)

i personally think that his proposed size is the problem... that diameter is no good.

what about just turning down some tlt bodies and making a good seal and piston system for inside them????

rc4wd

When I wrote 120mm long, 20mm diameter, 40mm travel. The 20mm is the overall diameter, not the shaft. This shocks doesn't have a shaft. It will be a unique shock, it uses a internal spring and has a 3 piece body.

STANG KILLA SS, no we dont plan to produce plastic version. The price will be around $15-20 a pair.

run2jeepn, once you see the production version, you wont think it is very cheap looking.

I would like to get something like those Edelbrook shocks done too, but it will be very expensive to make. We already got our own tool to make make springs now, so sooner or later we will have a shock like that done. Just probably not so fast.

microgoat or BlueMonster, can you guys give me the specs (Lengh, Overall Diameter, travel length) for a TLT-1 size shocks?

4stAir, our first shocks wont use a piston system. Next one will.

Here is my updated specs for our very first clod crawler shocks: 100mm Length, Shock Body Diameter 20mm, Shock Travel 35mm.

By the way what other stuff would you guys like to see being made, that is scale looking. It has to be aluminum, doing plastic in small quantity is not possible right now.

4stAir

other stuff.... i want some "scaler" axle housings.

i like the stuff you guys do, i think that new gear reduction is the ticket for my stealth comp rig.
i am sure the shocks will look good.

How about some cheaper wheels?;-)

do you have specs on spring rates. will they be adjustable either with differnt springs or some other meathod. also how do you plan damping recoil will they be oil filled or something differant?

rc4wd
09-18-2006, 09:02 PM
4stAir, we are working on it. We are going in 2 direction, one is a TLT-1 axle housing. Another one is our own scale looking axle housing. The CAD file should be done within next 1-2 weeks, production will start mid of next month. Our goal right now is release at least one axle by next month.

run2jeepn, Our 2.2 wheel will go down to $99 probably within 1 month. But it probably will be very hard to make it even cheaper, unless we make it out out plastic. Right now ww dont have the ability yet to make them in plastic, but things can change maybe towards the end of the year.

great.... let me know if you need a tester since i missed out on the reduction unit.... wish i would have posted my tlt.

rc4wd

slobin3d, I will have the spring rate specs up as soon as I have it. This shocks wont be adjustable, but there will be different springs available to purchase.

4stAir, yes we will be looking for beta tester.

Make some delrin rims, the 99 doller 2.2s, not the bead lock version!

need some gas shocks ?
10mm OD
3mm shaft
40mm travel
112mm lenght + ball ends
or 30mm and 92mm + ball ends

TLT shocks scale wish list:

8mm OD
100mm length
3mm shaft
~40mm travel

Swivel balls at both ends

Guys, how about: Threaded bodies, with spring cups to accept 15mm ID (Maxx size) springs?

Piggyback reservoirs?

rc4wd

Got it. Threaded shaft and piggy back will be done maybe in a month or so.

rc4wd I wasn't saying you shocks looked cheap. I know they wouldn't look cheap by no means. I was just saying that in real life those are the lower end of the shock options. They look like what would come on a stock rig from the factory lot.

I think this will be great.
And if you need a tester I have two scale builds coming up. A clod and a TLT. the clod has allready been started and the TLT is on it's way. I may need something for another Secret project.

If you really need a test PM me.
thanks

These will be sweet. you guys do nice work..

As soon as the prototype is out, I will send out some out for some of you guys to test.

We are working on a Wrench too, we couldn't do it before, because we didn't have the tools to make tiny gears. But now they we just finished a gear reduction gear using tiny gears, we are ready to work on the wrench.

I like the idea of reserviors (sp?) especially remote one, even if they are fake, they'd look sweet.

I am extremely interested in a 1/10 - TLT sized scaler axle. It would be the answer for us guys who dream of realism but can't afford Bruiser stuff!

4stAir

I posted somewhere just the other day that it wouldn't be too hard for one of you vendors to make realistic TLT cases. I'm looking forward to them. Any idea on price range and if some of the TLT mounting points will be retained?

rc4wd

We are still working on the CAD file for the TLT-1 axle housing (I assume that's what you are talking about). I expect it to be done late next week.

We are already working on our own axle too, I expect that to come out end of next month. It should be very realistic.

It takes a lots of money and time to design a new product, especial something like the TLT-1 axle housing. But a lots of time some of these product might not sell very well. We will make some final decision on if we will make the axle housing or not, once the CAD file is done.

I think this winter a lots of new exciting new products will come out.

Even for bruiser, we are making more and more products. We will announce two new products by next week.
