Thats right fellow biatches, lets talk pulling for a minute shall we :?:

mmmhhhrrrmmmmm (clears throat) Ok

What type of clod is the 1st question? In the NRCTPA we do a few different classes. One of the most popular class beiing "box stock" This means all stock chasiss and suspension coponents must be present. No wieght past front bumper, max allowed wieght is 14 lbs, stock tires blah blah blah . Now just about everyone runs adjustable motor mounts, and much like us crawlers, a 10 tooth in the front and a 9 in the back to help fight motor stall. Now 99% of these guys are running Kyosho magnetic mayhem motors which are 22x1, fixed timing. Your not allowed mod motors in this class and only 7 cells. Now I, being the 1% am convinced that I can do better with 55 turn integys. At the springs I made a full pull on my 3rd try (after realizing I had my pinions mixed up :x ) and took 3rd out of 6 in the pull off after the rear motor smoked itself ( fawkin untrue comm, ****ty *** integys!!! :x ) so now at the worlds I am hoping to kick *** this time (comms have been cut, matched 7 cell pack) but everyone is concerned that I wont have enough wheel speed...so I guess we shall see... SOOOO lesson 1 box stock, go with a magnetic mayhem, high silver content brushes and stiff a$$ springs

NOW if you are pulling in the modifed class I am going to say ASTRO Flight PULL MASTERS. Hard to find, and BIG money for the most part. Now most of these guys are running stretched sassy chassis, external gear reductions and the rear Astro motor looks like something out of a power wheels! Huge Fawkin can.

Take a look on the NRCTPA.com Website, there is info there and a link to the older site which contains the rule book.

Now if your back yard pulling, f'n around, slap in some low turn motors, high silver brushes, stiff springs, gear it down low and adds low of wieght (not only to the front ) and let it rip!

Hope that helps 8)

I got a brand new pullmaster motor, but it won't fit in a CLOD.

I'd be willing to part with it. LMK

im mostly thinking something that will pull on weekends and bash during the week when i get home from work to kill stress,

i dont feel like putting tons of money just to pull it,

i want bashing and puller in one package,

so what turn lathes should i be looking into?

Astroflights are hard to get ahold of. Theres a company called maxx products that deals in plane motors, brushed and brushless, gearboxes and all kinds of stuff. I bought a couple cobalt magnet motors from them and they had some decent power. Cobalt magnets is where the Astroflight motors get alot of power from as do the MPI(Maxx Products International) motors. That would be one route to get decent power.

You can get some sick power out of big outrunner brushless motors as well. It'd be high for a Clod cause you gotta buy 2 of everything. The colbalt motors ain't cheap either so it's up to you. Theres several ways you can go.

I'd get ahold of John at Holmes Hobbies. He's a wiz when it comes to electronics. He's done alot of testing and knows his stuff. He could point you in the right direction. He's got a few things that'd give alot of power as well.

55 turns, 7-8 cells, and gear it down some and youll be good. If your doing more pulling then bashing, lock out the rear suspension ;-)

do i have to solder my own wires on the lathe motors?

and what lathe would be good for pulling and bashing?

Yes you will need to solder your own wires on to them...what ESC are you using? I would say maybe a 45 turn lathe? with 7 or 8 cells, its not going to be fast but itll have alot of torque.

it comes stock with a msc,

is that ok enough to run lathes?

to run the lathe motors...technically yes, but only on 6 cells, my advice...throw that in the garbage and buy yourself a Tekin rebel 2 or a super rooster or something. The MSC will burn up trying to do any sort of pulling.

Back in the day 1987 - 1990 or so there was a pulling sled it was black and yellow or maybe gold.Does any body know who made it or have a pics of it?I even think R/C auction did a pulling test of all the big name trucks of the time.
