Here is a comparrison between stock front suspension and TL-01 rear arms. It adds about 3mm to each side's width, so nearly .5in total over stock.

man, i've been wanting an XC for a while right now, but i wish tamiya would release something with a cooler body than what they got out right now.

anyway, nice front mods, but i was wodering, is the front wider than the rear right now? and if not, how did you fix that?

Yea the front is wider than the rear, but thats what I was going for!"thumbsup" It just that often on lifted 1:1's that have kept the front indy suspension, they end up making the track a bit wider by using longer suspension arms (among other things). That way they avoid having to lower the front diff assembly and really killing ground clearance.
here is a 1:1 article I found on the subject: http://www.4wheeloffroad.com/techarticles/suspension/131_0509_gm_truck_ifs_lift_kit/

As far as the bodys go, heres my suggestion. Raid the local Wally-World, Toys R Us and simmilar stores for the cheap toy RC's. They are 9/10 times licenced hard bodies, and for the most part, have short wheelbases. This truck has only a 9.5in wheelbase. Heck, even asking your neighbors/friends if their kids have any old RC's or truck they aren't playing with, though you may feel kinda silly... Thats what I did anyhoo, here is what the truck came on:

Yes, yes, it was a monster NAPA truck, complete with yellow light up hat on the roof. Though it did have a bit of actual working suspension....

Heck, if all else fails, you could always get a chassis and REALLY extend the wheelbase to fit into one of Prolines new C-10 bodies or something. Not sure on the scale of the tires compared to the body though...
