I am currently using some new stock motors, but of course I can't leave it like that for too long. I was thinking of picking up a couple of modified motors and was wondering what the popular crowd used in their rides. I was thinking of Team Orion Rush 27turn single motors.

The common favorite is Magnetic Mayhems, a real good torquey motor. Cheap too.

Personally im running 12T puller motors w/ 16.6 Volts. But you dont need that :flipoff: Nothing more fun than watching your RC truck fly down the street faster than you can run.... :D

I run Mag Mayhems in one truck.

I just bought an Orion Rush 23 Turn Single and it works GREAT!!!! for my other truck.

so would you say that the Orion Rush motor is very comparable to the Magnetic Mayhem? I know the latter is 22turn single, which is why I wanted to get the Rush 27turn single, sounds like it would have more torque. Thoughts on that?

There's also the fact that the Magnetic Mayhem is larger, probably 550 size, while the Orion Rush is normal 540 size. Will this be a factor to consider?

I do notice more torque from the mag mayhems. The larger motor and commutator will produce more torque and power. However, the Orion motors do very well. The reason I got it was availability. I have to order the mag mayhems and it take a week or more to get them, while I can just pick up the Orion motors down the street at any time. I would always choose the mags first but the Orions are a great second choice. The 27t single should produce even better torque than the 23t but I am guessing that it wouldn't be a tremendous difference.

The 550 should produce more torque like Dirk said.

Actually I have never tried any other motor in my Clod (except the stock cans) cuz the Mayhem is the only reverse motor my LHS stocks  . I prefer to buy from them.

I can tell you that you will not be disappointed with the Mags, but the Orions may be so close you couldn't tell the difference. Mags are longer and larger diameter so they can cause more work when mounting links.

More reasons why I love my itty bitty SUPER HOT high tech puller motors. Small, compact and tons of power :) Happy I got them for free because 90$ a motor is more than I would ever pay!!!

Don't know. The price tag on them read 90$.. I can tell you what hobby store they were bought at.. I'll glance around and see if I find them anywhere.

Show trucks are boring :flipoff: Welcome anyway though ;)
