We have a new product in our shop over at Fat-Rock.com (http://www.Fat-Rock.com) . The latest innovation is our TLT-1 Battery-Servo mount. Ok, it isn't new since we have been running them in Nor-Cal competitions for a while now. We finally made an official run of these for purchase.

This new mount allows you to place your battery pack lower to the axle, thus lowering your center of gravity. We are talking pretty much an inch lower than when mounted on top of the servo.

There are multiple holes that allow you to mount links in different configurations including using the stock TLT-1 link mount.

See the following images.

They are available now at Fat-Rock.com

Looks good sam, i'm wondering do the upper links mount directly to the plate, (horizonal style) or can you use the one hole tlt link mount(vertical mount), if so, im gathering that the battery still sits on the links, correct?

Young Version - There are a few possibilities on how you can mount your links. How I mount my links is actually under the plate. This maximizes my drop of the battery, but minimizes the separation of the upper and lower links. This has never been a problem for me or others in the Nor-Cal series, but some may not feel so good about minimal separation. So I put in holes to allow the usage of a single TLT-1 link in the center. It might be able to fit under the plate (didn't actually check that), but it was intended to be placed on top. So then your battery would sit on top of your links in that mounting position. I hope that answers the question you had. I clearly need to take some link mounting option pictures to give everyone a visual. Give me a couple days and I should have something up.

BlueMonster - Thanks for the kind words

Sam,

Excellent thinking!

I have a rig that I'd like to try one of these on...just on the front.

http://www.projecttwin.com/files/dawnpatrol/3.jpg

I'm pretty sure that with my link setup I could make a 2nd plate that would attach to the opposite side of the axle then come across over the batt and attach to your mount.

That way the batt would be lower but the link geometry would go unchanged.

An associated battery cup would keep the batt from moving forward and a couple of velcro straps would secure the batt to the bottom side of the upper links.

Hi William, I thought I did respond to your request, but then again, I thought I PM'd Unimogger about his shipping date, and lo-and-behold, I didn't hit send. Guess I am not the brightest lightbulb on the Christmas tree sometimes.

I wanted to talk to my partner about your request first. Although on the surface it is an inviting offer, since you are asking for free parts, I don't want to give his money away without talking to him first.

The email FatRockrc@gmail.com is the best method.

Thanks

Sounds intersting. I can't wait to see it in reality on Ralph.

In case anyone is wondering how to keep the batteries mounted, we attach our batteries by a little velcro strap held down via a couple of the bolts/washers that hold the plate the axle. I also have a piece of velcro on the battery and on the plate as well for assurance of location. Then during a comp I can change battery position super quick if it is an uphill challenge or a gap crossing or whatever.

Sam, it's about time! "thumbsup"

I have a feeling this is going to be a big seller. 8)

Like Sam said, these sevo plates are a great performance enhancement. If you guys don't have girl friends now, you will after installing one of these!

Thanks for the great words. I only do it for you though. For everyone else though I spit in their packages and ship thier products through Timbuktu and lower Istanbul so that they never really get their parts

Seriously, thanks. I appreciate the kind words.

It's true. My wife is VERY satisfied with how well they perform. She tells me whenever I ask. ;-)

Sometimes the light bulbs just need to be tightened  lol. No problem I do the same now and again. Not all the parts have arrived anyway.

Thanks for the e-mail. You now should have mail!

sorta OT but when do you expect to start selling the bruiser crossmember Sam?

They are currently being hand made by Dean. I can ask him when he gets back from Oregon if he will be up for making another one. They are hard to make by hand with the tools he currently has, but he somehow does great fabrication with them. It’s like cutting a Turkey with a Spork, but he looks like Yan-Can-Cook when he does it.

Glad you got them ok. That is the first & last time I ship something out of my work shipping department though. I really thought you would have had it by Monday. Not today. At least you got it though.

I can't wait to see them in action on your rig.

JIA and JeremyH - Thanks for the update on receiving them. Can you let me know how well they came out to you? Was there any damage? Since I haven't shipped these awkward guys before, I didn't know how the packaging would hold up.

quattros - I will get your order out on Monday and I will put you down on the contact list for the C-s. I will have them back in stock again on the 19th of December. Just in time for Christmas. "thumbsup"

Jason - Thanks for the order and hope the C-s work well for you.

mount your upper links to the underside of the servo mount, or just mount the batteries to the upper links with velcro "thumbsup"

As HalfCab said, mount the links under the plate. Use velcro & strap to locate it. You can play with the weight bias right before you start a gate depending on the course which is nice. I will see if I can grab a better photo for you.
