well i started with a bandy new wheely king and took it apart!
i used some 3/16 stainless rod and some traxxas rod ends for the upper link rods and for the steering rods. the lower rods are just some traxxas hardend rods.
the servo mounts are make of carbon fiber just some blank stock dremmeld out. its just some mockup servos on there now looking for a good cheap servo to place in there any ideas?
most of every thing i did was just moving stuff that came orginal on the truck it is a great starter. this is my first real crawler so im kinda new to it im shure ill have some failing parts but i love the truck it looks great. the truck is a 12" wheel base it will have 2.2 wheels on it soon, i also have a dif here for it just waiting on the backorded axels to make it a 4x4..
i have not decided on a radio system yet i would like some feed back on that?
well im new here and new to rock crawlen so some feed back on the truck would be great ill start changing things right away b4 it even hits the rocks! i no the truck has a hsg but im trying to figure out how to change that?
well thats my box please feed back!

 you might want to limit the flex a bit.
shocker

yeah. limit the flex by like 10 or 20."thumbsup"

Little to much flex, but looks good. What tires are those? I don't think I have seen those.

Yeah,I'd limit the twist. All you really need is 40-50 degrees

Nice work. For a servo you could always get the chicken butt :)

Ever try actually reading what people write? Or do you just look at the pretty pictures and start typing? Here's your answer....

Where'd you get the tires?
Towerhobbies.com as them...
Ya that is way to much flex. 90* of flex is about 20-30* to much. It will cause you to roll and flip to easy. But you have done a great job with the stock parts. Keep it up."thumbsup"

might want to throw a front shaft in it as well , 2 wheel dosent work too well for crawl'n , looks like it'll be a real capable rig

Looking good. To limit the flex and lower the center of gravity, move the shock mounts nearer the top of the chassis, and further out from the center. You want to have enough flex so that you can't flip one axle over, so you want it a tad under 90*. Cool "thumbsup"
For the clicking impared.

the pan car died for those mounts im glad you like!! haha working on moving the shocks now more pics later!
I would have left the servo in the stock location but that is just me.
I am building a tuber right now and am thinking about using a latout for the servo similar to the stock WK setup.

well i liked the low sg of the servos on the axels and i wanted indapendent rear steer so thats why i moved them

How about having it both ways??? If you reverse the chassis by having the rear end as the front end. You could leave one servo in the stock location for the rear and have the front servo mounted on the axle. Best of both worlds"thumbsup" That's how I plan to do it until I can make or get a new chassis for mine.

if that articulates much more then the tires are going to turn in opposite directions.
Can you show us a better picture of how you mounted the two top links on the axle

the main reason for limiting the travel is because when you drive into a hole with one wheel, mega travel will drop that wheel all the way in and you'll get stuck in the hole. With less travel, your wheel could "float" over the hole without getting stuck.
I used to think "too much travel? no such thing!" But I have a wood/rock pile in my back yard that I've been experimenting with, and noticed that about 60* or so travel is ideal for me.
cheers!
Ryan,
I bought that Jeep Rubicon for my 3 year old daughter. She is learning how to use the controller and doing a great job. That thing is far more capable than I thought it would be.
Anyway, I pulled the tires off to see how I could mount them to my WK. I didn't see any way that wouldn't ruin the Rubicon's rims by widening the hole in the middle to pass the axle shaft thru. Did you put the Nitto tires on the stock WK wheels? They are hard but they look cool and I wanted to see if they would wheel better than my cut up stock WK tires
Also, I noticed that you moved your control arm mounts very close to the differentials. Moving them outward should limit the amount of flex.
Good luck.
