That's right functional jumper cables. Don't know why you would need them, but hey they work.

Here's what you need:
Radio shack mini alligator clips at least 4
2 7" pieces of 22gauge wire (1 red, 1 black)
4 1/4" pieces of black shrink wrap
Sorry for the crappy pics. I don't know why some didnt turn out right.

First remove the plastic end form the clips and shorten them to about 1/8".

If you want them to actually work strip back the jacketing about 1/4". If not just leave it be. Slide the clip onto the wire and clamp it tight. Don't for get to shrink wrap it. Do this once for each wire.

Next I took the clips and attached then to a small screw driver. Then I tacked the wired together with CA about every inch or so.

Now make sure you don't glue to far down on the other ends. And remember that shrink wrap. Attach the remaining two clips accordingly.

There you have it. Functional jumper cables.

That is cool. As I was looking at these, I was thinking that you could even cover all but a bit at each end with shrink wrap to cover the wires.

nice accessory, very creative.

That's pretty cool -- post some pictures of where you mounted it on your cargo rack as well, I'd like to see what they look like up there!

'Bout how big are those clips (not counting the tube)?

Get another piece of shrink wrap and put it over the non-jawed end of the aligator clamps. Then shrink it down a little bit so it fits a bit more snug on the clamp. Then you can sleeve/unsleeve it for safety. :)
