I think you mean 2 weeks. I am looking at a D12 trail chassis, lowered leafs. I already have a tranny and servo. Would need motor and speedo (actually I have an EVX that I could modify for single motor/battery use). Would like something I can play in the mud and water with. Any thoughts on this chassis?

Pretty decent chassis from the reading I've done. I believe Adogg13x has One, . He could probably tell you more then I. Although Adogg hasn't posted up here in this thread for awhile, you could PM him with any ques.

Gonna have to watch the weather on this One guys. We dodged the rain yesterday, but we may get some heavy thunderstorms yet today and tonight. Lets hope not. I just think the Trail of Terror (AKA Nicklepimp ridge) would be too risky to use, it was pretty muddy and slippery when 4 of us were there this past Sun and if it rains much, the lower section will probably have too much runoff. Since I'm close, I'll check it out and report back.
As of now, we're still on for Sun though "thumbsup"

We didn't get any of the rain the weather report said we'd get. So far things should be dryer then Sun.
If it doesn't rain, I would rather run at Mississippi River Park. Mostly because we'll be running Taylors a lot again this Summer as is. Whats anyone's else's feeling on that? Doesn't really matter to me, I'll be there either way.
Mike, you wanting to test a 2.2 or the Jug?
If it's the 2.2? the spring runoff has exposed some decent size rocks at Miss Pk. They found some pretty challanging lines to run on Sun with the 2.2's. While it's not Taylors, you'd still find some good testing ground.

Etype R
03-22-2007, 05:59 AM
Both really, both have new wheels and tires that have never seen the rocks. And we have a comp in Iowa coming up, I need to dial them in. Not sure if I have enough weight on the Jugg yet, and need to decide if I want to cut foam or not.

Hey, it's good to see you... errr... read you?...
How's that Bronco treating you? And didn't you say you were getting another Diaz chassis? How's that one working out?
I'm gonna try to make it out this Sunday... Depending on weather... And if a definite location is determined. So you can give me a call if you'd like. You still have my number? I'll PM it to you if you don't.

And to the rest, Hello again... I've been busy working on other RC's all winter. Spent lots'o'money in the past few months. I didn't really do anything to my 2.2 or Super. They are virtually the same as when last season ended.
I'm gonna have some fun this spring/summer with my 5B... Denny bought an FG Monster Beetle Pro recently, and we've got plans for some areas to run them...

Saturday will be hard for me... I need to get my gas tank taken care of before I can play. Driving the FJ every day is to risky with it not being 100% street legal. Got stopped in it yesterday cause my rear bumper was 1 inch to high and lack of rear mud flaps. The sheriff couldn't find anything else wrong with it, but I don't need a $120 ticket for a bumper thats to tall, even though my pickup is worse it looks legal from a distance.

i checked weather.com. it says that in both minneapolis and taylors falls there is a 40% chance of rain on both saturday and sunday. so if there is the same chance for rain on both days then i think we should stick with sunday. weather.com is very reliable and is usually right. also on both saturday and sunday the high will be in the low 60's. the snow will melt in that heat, so on the second day of high temps, sunday, the ground would probably be drier excluding the wetness from rain. so i think we should stick with sunday.

Adogg13x posted a link to the Taylors spot in post 32 here.

Here is the directions to the Mississippi River Park spot.
The poll doesn't end until tomorrow at 5:30pm, so we won't know the spot until then. I think we might as well stick to Sunday noon for either location.

Map to crawl/trail run spot. Mississippi Park.
We are actually going to be parking in the lot at 36th and West River Parkway about 3 blocks North from the star on the map..

From I-94 take the Cretin/Vandalia exit south to Marshall Ave. Turn right from Cretin onto Marshall and go across the Mississippi River bridge. Take the first left on the Minneapolis side of the bridge. (Marshall turns to Lake Street on the Mpls side of the river) That leads you to West River Parkway. Go South about 6 blocks to the parking lot on West River Parkway and 36th st.

From Crosstown/Hwy 62 Go East to Hiawatha/Minnahaha Ave exit. Take Hiawatha to 42nd St and go right/East to West River Parkway, then left/North 6 blocks to the 36th St West River Parkway lot.

I looked myself this morning at 6 different forcasts (NOAA aka:National Weather Service, Kare11, WCCO, Fox9, KSTP, & The Weather Channel aka: weather.com) and they all say partly cloudy, highs around 60 for Saturday, in both Taylors falls and MPLS. Where as Sunday they ALL predict a 40-60% chance of rain and thunderstorms. Weather channel was the only one to predict a 10-20% chance or rain on Saturday for both locations...
And I'm sure that even later in the day today the focasts will be even closer to being right...

Unfortunately for this weekend, many of us seem to have to much going on Saturday. After talking to Kevin last night, he said he had a hockey game to go to, I have to fix my truck before I can play.... If worse comes to worse and it is to crappy this weekend, we could do something next weekend.

60% according to weatherunderground, and rain starting at 10am and lasting all day.... Dunno, what do we do with this one? How many of us can show up on Saturday? I am thinking I could make it around 3pm, but not noon. And Kevin would have to leave early, not sure that would give him the proper time to drive someone's rig off a cliff?

I'm kind of a wait and see weather guy. I don't really believe much of the weather reports. It was supposed to rain the last couple of days. Wet later week with flood warnings for Southern MN. It was Sunny both days. The last I heard, of course they're all different forecasts, was a 40% chance of light showers Sun. I'll believe it when I see it.
Either way, I'm good for either day.

i still hope we have the gtg on sunday. i am busy tomorrow from 10:45-3:00 but then it would take about an hour to get to minneapolis, and my dad has something he needs to take care of for my sister who is in afganistan. also my dad is actually willing to drive me down to minneapolis for this event. he won't even drive me to hobbytown in brooklyn park! he often is busy or not in a good mood. i would like to see some crawlers in person this weekend. and if we do get showers, if your rigs are waterproofed then you should just waterproof yourselves. wear a poncho or something to keep dry. i think trails would be ok in the rain compared to wet rocks which are harder to grip. so i just hope we can stick to sunday. other people have plans as well for saturday it seems.

Well, I'm probably getting together with my buddy Denny on Saturday, reguardless of what everyone else is choosing for a day... I just don't believe we should plan for a day that is much more likely to be raining... Whatever.

But from the looks of it now a bunch of people are available to go go out on Saturday, maybe in the mid afternoon, sometime between noon and three at least, maybe stay longer. It'll be a nicer day...

Heck if people want, we could do one day in MPLS (Saturday) and one day at Taylors Falls (Sunday)... That way, if it does rain on Sunday, it wouldn't be so bad when compare to the terrain(ie: mud+cliff) in MPLS.
Or even plan for both days at one location. i'm sure there's a few that wouldn't mind crawling on both days, Just a thought.

The latest weather report I saw tonight said a good chance for rain in the morning, and a pretty good chance that they'll turn into thunder storms by afternoon. It's not looking good for tomorrows GTG. However, the weather people aren't always right. Best thing would be to keep an eye on the weather, and the forum here. Well this mornings weather forecast calls for a 70% chance of rain. Althought the Sun is shinning in my window now. The radar shows widely scattered showers in the morning, ( although not here yet) and possible thundershowers by afternoon, with a high of 70.
I really don't know what to think at this time. Right now I've seen more Sun so far this morning then I did all day yesterday.
I guess in less it's raining, I'm planning on going to the Mississippi River Park at around 11:00am.

You just missed us... We started around 11:30, and bailed right around 3pm. We were all beat after that. I know I will be hitting up Taylors falls either this weekend, or next.

Yeah Ryan, we've used that spot under the bridge before on rain out GTG's.
Were you at Minnehaha falls lot? or the Lot on 36th St and West River Parkway?
As EtypeR said, you must have just missed us if it was the lot on 36th St and West River Pkwy.
I'm up for another GTG this coming weekend.
Taylors sounds fine with me.
Post up a time and day Mike.
Better yet, might as well make a new GTG thread.

Yes indeed, we must have JUST missed eachother. The lot was empty and no one was around. Where do you go from the parking lot? We walked around and saw nothing I wanted to crawl on. Any way I am thinking I can make it this weekend. Let me know the details here. Keep me in the loop. Later guys.

I'll let you know what I am planning, would like to wait until I have the new tranny. But who knows, might go two weekends in a row to dial my trucks in. I just put in some slightly softer springs in my TLT last night, not a huge change. But enough to wanna test it again.

my dad probably wont bring me to taylors falls this next weekend because it costs too much in gas. but if anyone heads up highway 65 and passes isanti on the way maybe someone could pick me up if it isn't too much trouble. my mom is hurt and can't work so we cant afford to use all of that gas.

Looks like you are just about 30 miles from Talyors, so round trip with a truck would eat up around 4 gallons, or 10 bucks. You might as well hold off until we have a comp, a lot more people and trucks to check out. And you will have a better idea of how each truck setup handles, and what you want to do.
