Ok here's the deal guys, if you would like to submit a picture of your truck you can do so here. There are some rules, so allow me to bold these so you read them :lol:



Pictures must not be any larger than 800x600
You may only submit ONE picture of your truck
Your truck must be complete, no poser shots of your truck without driveshafts, or shocks, or the chassis sitting on a spray can
You may link to a thread about your truck and you may link to a site containing more pictures
Do NOT list out addresses to individual pictures
If you would like to change your truck's picture, please edit your post accordingly
Please post a build thread for your rig. This will reduce chit-chat in this thread and give folks a reference point for info on your rig.
Anyone not following these rules will have the rules enforced onto their post as the mods see fit, ie: removing excess pictures, deleting multiple links, deleting of the entire post if too many rules are being broken for us to simply edit the post



The main thing here is we want to show off your trucks, but we don't want people suffering with long load times to get the pics up. We also don't want rccrawler's bandwidth to go down the toilet. Not everyone is running monitors at 1600x1200, so small pictures are appreciated.

Here is my Wheely King project. It is mostly stock other than stretched with my own custom links, and an Integy 55T motor. I borrowed the 2.2 Swamp Dawgs with RC4WD beadlocks from my F-350 since I was playing with the WK wheels/tires on my F-350 for a bit. I had to make drive shafts out of junk in my garage untill my T-Maxx ones show up, but they seem to be holding up to my suprise!...

Well after the Boyer Tuber was a crawling failure I tore it a part. Using the WK tranny and axles I made this truck. I hope you all like it. This was a cheap and simple build other than the electronics and motor.

did a bit of work to the WK lately. Cut 2 coils off each stock spring, clocked motor plate in stock chassis, silicone tube shock restriction. 100wt oil.

Its super stable on the side and can almost climb and verticle wall with all 4 tires touching. Sorry for the carpet. It clashes with the truck badly haha

New to the world of crawling, here's my week old wk after having fitted the STRC kit and diff locks.
It took a while to work out how to fit it all properly, but worth the effort! Great fun, now it drives anywhere! Brushless would be better though,
and definitely needs a high torque servo on the front now with the extended axles!

Here is my WK.
It has the HPI crawler kit installed and the HPI gear reduction box installed along with Pro-Line Flat Irons on Pro-Line 8 shooter bead locks w/ 6 oz of weight in each front tire, custom made steering links.
I also have a Towerpro high torque servo and I like the looks of not having a servo on the front axle so i left the stock steering in place. Chassie has been flipped, axles locked.

Here are a couple of pictures of my Wheely King crawling under the 101 in Santa Rosa with my son and his Axial Scorpion. It keeps up with his Scorpion very well and with better tires, I expect to go anywhere the Scorpion can. Here is the current setup of my WK:

Hello all. Well after years of being in R/C and racing on-road I got super interested in all this crawling stuff I have been seeing and reading about so after a bunch of research in how to get started and give crawling a taste I purchased a Wheelie King and added some mods to make it a crawler.

The SofaKing...as in SofaKing much changing. Anybody recognize the footwear?

WheelyKing with Shredder radio, ancient Tamiya mc230 speed control, 8-cell, 3800mah nimh pack from all-battery.com,4-cell alkaline pack for LED's, HPI RS4MT front shocks all around, Radio Shack Mattracks wheels and tires with custom-made hub adapters, custom-made CNC'd flipped chassis, and a rear-custom-mounted servo, using all stock steering hardware. Body is a second-generation Tamiya Clodbuster cab. Wheelbase is stock, weight, ready to rip, is 7.4lbs.

Motor is stock, but I have a cordless drill motor (I gotta be MEEEE) with what looks like a bazillion-wind arm in it...

NOTES:
The shocks are filled with Dawn dish detergent. If they leak, it will keep the wife from squeaking.

I did a HACK job on the rims. The outer, chrome centers were chopped out with wire-cutters, and the center of the rim proper was hogged out with a step-drill. They DO run true- the hub adapters were made on the lathe, and attach from the backs with 3 screws each. I'm planning new centers to press into the outer rims, just haven't done this yet. It will clean them up quite a bit.

The HPI shocks are 1.018" shorter than the WK stockers. My chassis uses all the stock screw locations, and if you look close, the shock towers are still there.

The body has a seat built in, for a driver figure from a Tamiya WildWilly2, note the opened window.

A short 2 minute loop, chewing on a few boxes. You can see the chuck rotating in the center of the chassis, I put some reflective tape on it to pick up the LED's, and give a visual clue to "engine speed".

You're also seeing a testimonial to the Hitec HS645MG servo- can you believe the steering -with all the stock linkage?


I can't decide weather to leave it black or paint it. John Deere Green would add 30% more plowing ability, I bet.

hey folks. its about time i post some pictures of my crawler. I wanted to wait with this until it was (mostly) finished. its done for now, but you never know if i will come up with something else :roll:

not happy with the battery position yet, but tests proved this was working pretty good.

It uses a newera tube chasis, alumimum skidplates for each axle, axle mounted servos, Tekin 55T and FXR esc, and Futaba 3PM. The WB is 13" It has 4ws. It also has a head/tail and cab light kits from RC-Lights.

I havent wanted to go with a servo on the axle yet so I have made all the steering links from 4/40, traxxas ends, and carbon fiber tube. It has really stiffened things up. And I put an aluminum bellcrank on ther too right above the axle. My steering servo is a Hitec 645. Later I will upgrade the servo to a better one. It has much improved steering torque with nothin in the links to flex. Also I put a "strap" of doubled sheetmetal on the front axle and bent it over so that the plastic bellcrank mount stopped flexing. The bellcrank and my axle housing bolts go through it. I don't really think much of the initial torque is lost from the servo the the wheels now. Heres a few shots from a "drive or drown" spot I like to go to. And yes i've ended up in the drink twice in the last year lol.

I also have some much softer foams in the tires. The tires arent really too good for crawling but the softer foams have helped quite a lot. The sidehilling isnt too shabby either. The tires are ribbed on the inside to add some stability.
