This is my first crawler. I decided to go with a tuber because I wanted to take on the challenge of building one my self. I am pretty happy with the way it turned out. I still have a little tweaking to do on it. I will post some more revealing pictures of how it is built hopefully this weekend. I crawl with Jason or "JIA" at Pointes West in Aug, GA
http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m281/rebelrat86/scan0002-1.jpg

3/16" Steel Rod, Wheely King Axles, Wheely King Trans, Wheely King Rims,

Novak 18.5T Brushless Motor, Novak ESC, Revo Drive Shafts, Imex All T's
T-Maxx Shocks, JR Sport 125MG Steering Servo

I made the links out of 1/4" aluminum rod (drilled and tapped on each end for 8/32" threaded rod). Front three link is made of 1/4" steel rod with steel plate welded to top, also serves as my servo mount.

WB-15" Width-12" Outside Tire to Outside tire 9" Center to Center

About 4" of ground clearnce right now, but I am going to lower it just a little.

Great looking rig. "thumbsup"
I'm looking forward to some more detail pics.

Maybe it'll help me past the issues I'm currently having with my tube build. Tranny and link mounts..

From the picture you posted it's hard to tell how much the sides angle in, but the video shows it prety good. Cool tuber by the way."thumbsup"

Here are some more pictures of my truck. I didnt get any of how I mounted the trans. or the motor. The motor is bolted onto the motor mount that came on the Wheely King, and the Trans. is laying on it's side.

Everytime i see this rig i get more impressed. Can you get some pix of how you mounted the tranny, and maybe some of your steering setup?

Very nice work!

How did you make the upper links? The font looks like a solid piece of aluminum? While the rear looks like a bent piece of aluminum that you drilled a hole in at the bend point. The rear is a very good idea, but im not quite sure how you did the front.

when rotating the link mounts 90* how do you keep them from moving around since the axle housing isn't square?

They arent perfectly square, a little rectangular shape to them. but if you rotate the clamps. They wont slide. The lip on the top and bottom of the axle makes it pretty snug.

Hey guys I had to put the truck up for sale due to tuition and me in my last semester of college I hate to sell it, but you do what you have to when it comes down to it. If you put in a search on ebay for RC Rock Crawler you will see a pic of it on there if you are interested in having this truck you should take a look.

I saw it on ebay yesterday..

Shame I don't have the $$ .. looks like a great truck to have.

Maybe it'll go to a good home and stay here on "RCCR"

VERY well engineered... I love how you plated the upper links and made them the servo mount as well... nice!
