Check out a DuraTrax Carburetor Slide Dust Cover G-27CX.

It's about a .5" tall and wide. Similar dust covers could be used from other motor mfg's.

For gear shifter boot, i use the rubber that’s on the end off bicycle brake wires. Used it as a rubber boot for some shocks as well. They are a bit stiff, so they can cause the shocks to be a bit slow in action (hope my spellings ok).

You could also use the shock boot from a Thunder tiger 1/8 buggy or the drive shaft boots made by Sportswerks.
