I have super cheap lipo cells. Hows about 8000mah 10C at 7.4v for $59? These are genuine Enerland cells, it comes as two seperate packs. Both stacked are only a hair taller than a 6 cell sub C pack, but have the same footprint. Uses hyperion/ polyquest taps. Battery plugs not included in price.
Contact me via email through JRH at Holmeshobbies.com or via PM if you have any questions about the cells.

8000??? Jeebus.... Are you gonna have anything smaller? Something like the 4000mah would work for me I think...

thinking the same thing, my sand rail would like that as long as they arent heavy...the 2 3300s are killing it right now

Not to Hi-jack the thread, but what are you using as a power plant Jeff? I have a ss5800 right now and im not happy at all with it...its to fawkin slow  and I want to go fast!"thumbsup"

JRH hooked me up with a killer set up. It is killer fast. I can't remember what it is maybe he remembers or I can check tonight.

The packs are actually two 4000mah packs that you will need to run in parallel. For a fast car 8000mah is needed to support the amp draw. For a slow car you could get away with just one pack.
8000mah weighs 13 ounces @ 7.4v. I can get three cell packs too. Each individual cell is basically $15.

BD, I think you have a 380C-7 motor, but it might be a 6 turn. I cant remember anymore.

I went back and looked at my buildup thread and it's a Feigao 380C-67 with a Quark 80 esc. Mike, you should contact JRH it is a killer set up.
Can they be made into a 4s pack? I don't need the 8000mah as much as the 14.8volts. I might be getting Lipo sooner than I thought.

Yes, you could daisy chain the two in series for 4s 4000mah power. What motor would this be pushing? I might still recommend 8000mah since the cells are only 10C capable.

Oh sure! I get the 3600s and now this!
I love my parallel 3600 2 cells!!!

Your packs actually have more punch, Unholy. They are 12C cells. If you ever run them dead let me know :D

that's going to require more finesse or a stronger transmission...
I lack finesse so transmission parts are on the way!

If someone where to run two 6 cell packs running _____ means same voltage, higher MaH?
If I took a XRS and ran 2 6c packs in __?___ it wouldnt burn up?
Unholy
04-06-2007, 12:51 PM
Your blank = Parallel
To answer the question about the XRS burning up, that depends on the load. Some ESC specify a mAh rating as they don't like to be run for a longer time.

Most of the time running two packs in parallel isnt worth the weight gain. With these lipo cells, it is needed for go fast cars. Even with 7.4 volt 8000mah the Lipos I am selling weigh only 14.25 ounces with wire. Compare that to a 7 cell 3700 pack that weighs over 1 pound. You will have higher voltage under load and more than TWICE the runtime for LESS weight. Compare the prices too, a handbuilt 7 cell pack will run at least $60. There was a reason I never got into lipo until now, and it was the Cost vs. watt/hour of the packs.

will you be carrying higher C rating cells?
JohnRobHolmes

If you want, but expect to pay twice as much or get half the capacity.

Ah, yes I would probably need more like 15-20C. I have a Feigao 9XL for an electric converted RC10GT and an 1/8th scale buggy.

Yep. I would suggest 4s 8000mah 10C. 10C cells are the bastard child of lipo. There is a big movement in the industry away from them, while they are still the best value for the money and energy density. I have always preferred my 10C 2100 packs to the 1150 20C packs. Twice the runtime with marginal weight gain.
So, would a 4s 8000mah 10C be comparable in output to a 4s 4000mah 20C?
JohnRobHolmes
04-07-2007, 10:01 PM
Yep. Same continuous rating. The burst rating would change as well of course. The lineup: 8000mah 10C vs 4000mah 20C
400gm vs 225gm ; $60 vs $115 ; 8000mah vs 4000mah; 133mah/$1 vs 34mah/$1 ; 20mah/ gram vs 17mah/ gram
As you can see, the weight is the large advantage for 20C cells. Since I am not flying these cells and I am switching from NiMH it is a good weight change (with more runtime than I can use).

yeah but with just the raw cell i would think you'd have to be a little more careful in placement than nimh's. lipos dont like alot of beating.

But of course. These are cells are good for a basher or other vehicle with a full sized battery tray. They would be hard to fit on a crawler down low. A smaller cell like a 2100 would work better for sitting on a servo.
Thanks for all the info John.

what do you have in cheap 11.1 3S 2200 18C+ packs?
JohnRobHolmes
04-10-2007, 11:46 AM
nothing in stock right now, but I can get whatever you need pretty fast. You looking for a big 2200 pack, or a smaller one like the old school TP 2100s? What application? Nothing that is really cheap though either, most 20C 2200 packs in three cell run about $80 still.

how many would i need to replace 2 6 cell battery packs?
and how many would i need to simulate 14 cells?
how would thay last in a electric revo? pushing a BL?
(in charges not run time) are they quality cells?
sorry for the lot of stupid questions.
JohnRobHolmes
04-26-2007, 11:28 AM
To replace 2 6 cell packs you would want 4 cells in series for 14.4 volts. They are Enerland cells, so they are quality. As far as the charges, if they are balanced and taken care of you should get 300 cycles or more. Certainly more cost effective than running nitro.
Got em listed on the site not http://holmeshobbies.com/home.php?cat=10

hey johnrobholmes i have some similar Q's, i have a bl revo as well. i was looking at over $270 in just the two 2s 4900mah trakpower lipos with out a balancer and it almost made me want to sell the dam thing even after all the money i already sunk into it. what kind of setup could you throw me together to be competative and how much would it cost? i don't mind spending money on the batts its just i little more than i can handle right now. it has a mamba maxx esc and 8xl motor. thanks man.

Dont know how I missed these posts...
It would take 5s to get that sucker moving decent. You could use a pair of 2s 4000's and a pair of 3s 4000's to get 5s2p @8000mah. That should run around $160. They are up on my website.

Either a 2s or 3s setup would be the ticket for you. Hit up my website battery section for the various packs I have. They are sold in pairs, and should be used in parallel with each other.

John,
I have a novak super sport system with the 4300kv motor. I'm planning to use this in a losi or assoiated stadium truck. I want a 2S so this would work but will the 80a continuous rating be ok?
JohnRobHolmes
04-29-2007, 03:13 PM
80a continuous should be just fine with that motor.
