 WOW you did quite the job on that WK that HAS to be the longest WK ive seen yet, once again good job, would you happen to have a idea how much that all costed you including the kit?

the truck itself was 180, for the 2wd version before they introduced the 4x4. all of the parts & servo & materials cost:
4x4 parts $40 - still waitin on 2 parts from hpi -
servo $40
aluminum plate 3 sheets:$4 ea.
3/6 stainless rods: $2 ea x2
1/8 stainless rods: $2 ea x3
traxxas shock rebuild kit for the 1/8 ends: $5 ea x2
ofna 8mm ball ends for 3/16" rod: $7
savage shocks: $25
B&B motors: 2 fer $25 from e-bay
new rims: $12 fer all 4 (just got new ones-not mounted yet) actually found some team associated car rims that are already narrow 1 3/8")
tires :$40 fer 4 ( i am gonna try the imex red rocks, already narrowed 2 of em, but still need to narrow the others, definately have to run foams though, sidewalls are thin)
this is just what i actually used, i spent a little more just tryin difeferent things & different materials & have plenty of spare rod & plate layin around. I am gonna use the plate for my rear servo mount & also make some axle skid plates when i get the time.
I will post pics of the new rims & tires when i get time. the rims arent anywhere close to comp material but for the homegrown crawler or basher wantin to run narrow tires, it is a good cheap alternative in my opinion. i did run the tires unglued on the rims for a minute just to see how well they bite & they actually did pretty good. they took me more places than the stock tires do. they have decent sidewall lugs & big gaps in between all of the lugs on the tire. when i narrowed them i reglued them with an offset pattern & want to see how well they actually work before i chop the other 2 tires.

The rims dont have the hex wheel adapter but they fit right over the axle pin, besides that they are already narrowed....... and cheap.....

she brought me back a brand new 4x4 wk as a donor so she wouldnt have to hear me complain about gettin parts........ she said "here is a 4x4, now get rid of one or the other or do whatever you need to, just quit phukin with that damn toy & spendin hours at the damn hobby shop lookin for parts"...... hey, i guess all my time & effort has payed off..... I am finally 4wd but, a couple hours after bein 4wd i burnt up the esc & motor........ more money to spend on upgrades & she dont mind..... will post more pics when i get time to tinker with it a little more...... new tekin rebel 2 esc, 320 oz servo, & motor already ordered....... I kinda slipped the servo in there as a major electronic that burnt up...... .... she dont know the difference.....

You have inspired me!
I just ordered my WK last night and want to extend mine about that long.
How well does it crawl? and have you had any problems with it being that long?
Also other than the rods and ball ends, all you really need is longer driveshfts right? and is it the T or E maxx shaft you have to buy?

i used t-maxx shafts....... i plan on upgradin to the punisher shafts from the crawler store pretty soon, but the t-maxx shafts work pretty good. I havent had any problems yet..... key word yet....... right now just out of ideas i got in my head and also from seein what all these other guys did, i am makin my own chassis (same style but redesigned to my liking) and i am gonna add a slight bend to the lower links. it will shorten it up a little bit, but it will give me a little more ground clearence in the middle. It crawls pretty well, until i burnt up my esc last week...... now i am waitin on the new one to get here & tryin to hurry & redesign while it is outta commision.
glad i could inspire someone....."thumbsup"

cool. thanks for the info!
I have been planning on when I get it to put a bend in the lowers as well for the clearance as well.
I do have one other question. did you use the savage shocks because you had to or will the stock ones work as well?
I want to build it like this first and then move on to a tube chassis later on.
I gotta keep it cheap for now, the boss is on my a$$, cause my last RC got a little out of control.

No i didnt have to use the savage shocks... i used em cause i wanted a little more travel........ i am thinkin about flippin em over & takin the springs off when i swap it all over to the new chassis...... plus i bashed it around for a couple weeks before turnin it into a crawler & kept bustin the cap off the front shocks.......

here is a quick lil vid that i took of my 1st rock outing......... still waitin for my r2 tranny to go in my new chassis & a few more mods. been busy with my trail beater build lately & havent updated this thread in a while. decided on full droop set-up, made new servo mount for the 330oz digital servo, made custom axle c's outta cutting board material (broke one yesterday:twisted: -time for aluminum), rebel 2 esc, v-10 65t integy, 17t pinion & 96t spur. i will post up pics of the new chassis, soon, but here is a vid for now, all comments & suggestions welcome.

120 wt, no internal springs, the weight of the truck keeps em compressed."thumbsup"
