Dude. I live in Ashland City, work in hopkinsville, and haunt Action Hobbies (on main st.) in Clarksville. You building something, new at this, or an old hand just finding the site?

Cool. I'm trying to remember - Columbia is what, 1.5 hours south of nashville? Looks like most of your stuff is going on out that direction. That's a long hike for me atm, considering I don't have a truck I'd consider ready to tackle the rocks (read I'm still waiting on a single part for the front axle of my WK) but I'll deffidently think about it at some point in the near future.

Kacz - Where abouts have you been crawling?

lol - Not quite. I'm perfectly willing to drive some distance once I have something worth driving the distance to play with when I get there. But I'm also trying to sort out places to crawl around here besides my back yard (which, really isn't so bad).

Cool. Well, keep everyone updated on when you're getting groups together to go out and crawl some, and I'll see if I can't make it there at some point. I'm eager to see some people who might actually know what they're doing crawl, and learn something.

Raytard - LOL - Where should I go then?!

Kacz - I've only been crawling a little longer. The only thing I think I have working to my advantage getting into this is over 20 years experience with R/C cars and trucks in a bashing/racing environment. I know a couple good natural places to crawl. Get a rig working, and we'll meet up somewhere. How do Sunday afternoons work for you?

You could come w/ us to Rochester Ky. (Green River) on the 19th...

Or you could visit E.T.R.C. in Alcoa TN. on the 26th.

There's always plenty going on.
Just search the "Competitions/Get-togethers" pages..!

See you on the rocks!

See you on the rocks!

Actually, I was seriously thinking about this. It was mentioned in another thread, and it's very tempting, plus all my parts are claiming they'll be here by about that time - so I should have a _working_ crawler by then. Looking at it on a map, it's probably about 2 hours away, so not a bad drive. Any links to details about that? I assume it's a competition - maybe some links to crawling comps for noobs as well?

If you check the S.E.R.C.R.C. link I posted earlier www.sercrc.com (http://www.sercrc.com)
Look for the "EVENTS" section & you'll get all the info you need... 8)

I ONLY had Nylints until the Night before S.E.R.C.R.C.'s 1st comp of last year!
That night, I FINALLY got my N.N. done! ... "thumbsup"

The next day... I bombed!
I still had, more FuN than I knew what to do with!!! "thumbsup" "thumbsup"

Come on up! Even if you don't have anything ready... 8)

Just getting to talk to the entire group, & see other rigs (up close & in action) will help you tremendously (w/ ideas & such)! "thumbsup"
Plus, if you like camping, &/or fishing.....................

I'm there. I just verified it with the boss...er....wife tonight. I'll actually be cutting across country, up 24 to exit 4, then out 79 to russelville. I doubt I'll be doing any camping, but the fishing......

Sounds good. The Sam's Club parking lot might be the best place.

just to make sure we are talking about the one the 19 of may

can anyone tell me how long the comp is. is it just saturday or sunday too

SVEN

Competition is all day Saturday, and we usually play on Sunday. In the past we've done tiebreakers on Sunday, but we've gotten better about getting everything done on Saturday. I would say it's best to be there Friday night, because the comp starts at 9:00am and you'll want to be the around 8-8:30.

Also, don't forget to sign here http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=68798
or over at www.sercrc.com
Just make a post saying what class you plan to run, and you're in.

Yep, we're talking may 19.

I've been to the forum and made the post. I was thinking about leaving here around 6 am Saturday, should put me there by 7:30 or 8. What's the area where we park up there like? In other words, can I drive my car (good milage) or do I need to bring my truck (not so good milage)?

SVEN

Parking is level grass/gravel/asphalt depending on where you park. No problems with a car.
