Well this is my first attempt to stretch the wheel base on my Wheely King. I bought the Traxxas #5139 turnbuckles, #5318 Push Rods and the #4951x Half shafts. This evening I started with stretching the rear first and having issues. Do I use the turnbuckles #5139 for the lower links and the #5318 push rods for the upper links? If so I mounted every thing and the upper links are too short or I'm missing something. Does the upper and lower links need to be the same size? Thanks!

The 5318's on top and the 5139's on the bottom worked perfect for me. WB is now 12.5.

SeanD.....could you please post some pictures where you have the upper and lower links attached to the chassie and axles? I mounted the links in the same place as the original links but I'm puzzelled with where to attach the links to the axle. I do have the TLT mount to attach the upper links to the axle. Pictures would help. Thanks!

This is best picture I have already uploaded. This is the rear of the truck. Notice that I have turned my shock mounts 1/4 turned so that the original mounts for the shocks are facing forward (or backwards in the case of the rear) on the axle. Otherwise, the stays are mounted in pretty much the stock positions. Not sure if this helps or not. If you need more info just let me know:

SeanD.....Thanks for the picture! Only thing is that the 5318's I have do not have the hex peice in the middle of the rod. Is there a 5318 for the T-maxx and a 5318 for the Revo? The #5318 I have are for the Revo. I was stretching the wheel base just like the picture. I'm missing something????

I've seen the 5318X which, I believe are the same length, but are made of red aluminum. They do not have the hex in the middle. From what I gather, the hex is used to hold the shaft while you unscrew/screw the rod ends. Forgive me for asking this question, but when you are working on the truck its almost always upside down so I don't suppose you are mixing up the upper and lower stays because you are working upsaide down? I'll admit I had to look at the thing twice a few times because of this!!

Sean....Yes the truck is upside down when I was working on it. I could have very well been getting the links mixed up or something. I'll give it another shot this weekend when I have some spare time! Do I need to rotate the shock adapters on the axle or just connect the 5139 bottom links to where the original bottom link is attached? Thanks again.

I rotated my mounts because I wanted my shocks set further back to be free of the steering servo I've mounted on the front axle. I am sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but you can leave your mounts in their stock positions if you do not need this extra space for the servo.

Are you following what was done in this thread?

This was my guide but you will find yourself doing things "your own way" to make the mods more "personal".

Hope this helps,

Well after double checking I think I have the wrong upper links. I have the Traxxas 5318's (for Revo) when I should have gotten the 5138's(for the T-Maxx). The 5318's are 102mm and the 5138's are 108mm. So now I need to get the 5138's and I think I'll be set. We'll see.

I have seen it done both ways.I did mine a little on both ends so it was using the same parts.I used all thread with steel brake line covers and traxxis ends since it was cheaper.(already had most of it)
