Rancid

I've been playing with RCs for awhile, but this is my first crawler. My old roomie had a really kickass FJ and I went crawling with him once. Thats my entire crawling experience.
First, I started with a 4WD stock WK:

Then I went to the hobby store and bought:
(2) Traxxas #5318 - Revo Push Rods
(2) Traxxas #5139 - 116mm T-Maxx Turnbuckles
(1) Traxxas #4915X - Half Shafts, Long
(1) New Era Traxxas Jato Screw Kit
(1) Elmer's Ultimate Glue

I took the axle apart and glued up the diff and let it sit overnight. I used an old Erector Set piece for the upper link connection to the axle:

And flipped the shock holder around 1/4 of the way for my shock connection and lower link connection:

When I finished the rear, I put it all back together to compare to the stock front end:

The stock front:

Modified rear:

I still need to cut out a template for the front steering servo and make better mounts for the shocks. Is it better to have a lower CG with a lower shock mounting point (chassis and axle sides) or have more ground clearance? Any advice is much appreciated.
