:)I just got my first WK about 2 weeks ago, and i stretched it 12.5 in. WB and moved the battery to the front of the truck to keep it from wanting to do wheelies when its crawling, but i want to get a new motor and gear combination, and was wondering if anyone had any good recomendations? Im using strictly for crawling, and I'd like to have some more torque to help it when crawling up steep hills etc.

Thanks

The biggest that HPI makes is a 96 tooth that I am aware of. It fits the WK tanny but your dust cover will not. I am running a 18 tooth pinion on a 55 turn motor. I feel that it could use a little more gearing. I have stalled it multiple times in some tight spots. If you can keep the truck moving, it does good, but get it bound up, and it is over.

Ive been running a Crawlmaster in the stock WK with 2, 3, and 4 cell lipo. The 2 cell is great for crawling. The 3 cell is like a stock WK, the 4 cell is pretty fast. I used the mamba max and the quark 33, I liked the quark 33 better for feel.

I run a 55T lathe motor geared 15/96. That is the lowest gear ratio you can go with before you have to mod anything. Never had any trouble with stalling.

same as 4x4 dodge
65 turn motor 96/15 gears and not a problem

i have the 55t integy with 96/13 gearing. just had to do a little shaving on the top of the trany to get good mesh. running moab XL's, there is still too much wheel speed, and the motor stalls. but if the motor doesn't stall the tranny will slip. I'm thinking seriously about dropping it back down to 2.2's from the 40 series. then the gearing should be fine.

the 15/96 seems to be the best gearing for the wk. i'm running a brood racing 80 turn motor with a mamba max. no problems with stalling. the 80 turn lacked the 'punch' i wanted off the line but provided tremedous torque while still running the stock esc, but with the addition of the mamba max, as well as advancing the timing on the motor a bit, i've got all the wheel speed you could want out of a crawler.
