You could up the voltage on that servo quite a bit. I ran mine on 7.4v with no issues, but this will be different for every rig and season.

6v would be safe.

The led's won't be anything at all, and I don't think 4 servos will be much strain either, at least not for the castle bec.

Yep, they can all work together. But, you have to have led's that work on the voltage that the servos work on unless you want to use resistors. 7.0 to 7.2 volts would be the easiest to make work with most led's.

Changing the settings is done with the Castle Link. You dont mention your servos, but if the reg was set to 6 volts you would get quicker and more powerful steering for sure.

It looks like very few were made in the first production run, they wanted to check things out before making a large grip.

No revamp. Castle makes products in waves, usually 6 week intervals from what I can tell. The made a small batch on the first run and they will make more when they can. If they have a delay then it will be longer.

yep. the bec worked fine in my rig but would not allow the max to arm in his ??????. we both run maxs, the difference was reciever and I use a 3 cell lipo as opposes to a 7 cell pack

Hey guys, Tamiya makes LED control units that just plug right in. Tamiya part #TLU01 can control up to 16 LED's. They also offer the TLU02, which allows you to conect 2 TLU01's for a total of 32 LED's. The TLU02 also offers multiple functions to your light system."thumbsup" (i.e. turn signals, brake lights, flashers, low/high beams, just to name a few.) The scalers may be interested in these items. I just ordered everything I needed to hook up my F350. It was a lot cheaper that getting the Multi-function control unit Tamiya makes for it. ($400, that's more than the kit was):shock: I'll post again on how the install goes.

Do you have the full kit? I had the Castle link that came with my Mamba Max and that is not all you need to adjust the BEC. You need the full Castle Link kit to adjust the BEC.

I'm looking at the Castle BEC and have a few questions.

Does the Castle BEC have a voltage cutoff for lipo's if I was to use the BEC without a Esc?

The difference between the Castle BEC and the Cool BEC is the programming and the amperage handling. The Cool BEC is 3a and either 5v or 6v. The Castle BEC is 7a and can be programmed from 4.8 to 9v with the castle link. In a 2.2 the Cool BEC is plenty. In a super the Castle BEC is recommended.

Oh yes, neither BEC has lipo cutoff on them, so you would have to time the run or use them with an ESC with lipo cutoff. There really isn't any reason to use a seperate pack to power the BEC unless your main pack is 5 cells nimh and you want more power to the servos.

It does not at this time, but we are discussing making this an option via the Castle Link. It would have to be accompanied by a BIG pop up message stating something to the effect of "you do realize that if your pack drops to this voltage you will lose complete control of the vehicle, correct?", and you would check off a box saying "yes" or "no". I'm sure we'll be discussing this more in the future. I'll keep you all updated.
