View Full Version : Motor Adapter Plates, New and improved!

I just received my updated adapter plates. They adapt a speed 300 or 400 motor to a standard 540 bolt pattern (16 or 19mm to 25mm bolt circle). This comes in handy for mounting small outrunners or 380 motors to a standard gearbox. I flipped the design from the last run of plates, as the mounting screws interfered with the motor wires on almost all outrunners. Also, every small motor (except mini's) on my website comes with these standard. "thumbsup"

Is one of these, or any sort of adaptor plate needed to bolt a Scorpion 3014 up to a standard tranny?

No. Only the 22xx series motors need them. The 28xx and 30xxmm diameter stator motors generally have 25mm bolt spacing- just like a stampede tranny. The Revolver Black is a 2816mm motor, it bolts right up.

The logo is just there for pretty looks. There really wasnt any way to make them visable without making it 1/4" thick

Hey JRH, will my crawlmaster bolt right up to my ax-10 tranny or do I need one of these?

JohnRobHolmes

The crawlmaster will bolt right up, just make sure the motor doesn't rub the tranny case. You dont need an adapter plate.

I should have received them friday, but they didn't come. I will have to check and see when I should expect them. So, they are still out of stock for the moment.

With the pinion gear included in the ax-10 kit (14t), I cannot move the motor far enough away from the tranny to prevent it from rubbing without moving it to far away from the spur. Do I just need to get a new pinion? If so, what do you recommend?

I would suggest a larger spur so that you will have the most gearing options. I would suggest getting as large of a spur as you can fit without it hitting the chassis.

ok, so how do i know if one will be bigger than the other? Is it like the more teeth the smaller??? I know, this is pretty dumb, but I really dont know. What do you recommend I go with as far as spur and pinion, and what brands?

since I haven't gotten my hands on the ax10, I dont know what spur will fit. You want more teeth to your spur, it will push the motor away from the tranny case.

Just got a new shipment of these, improved design for better thread retention and more common bolt dimensions. They are made of 3mm steel, painted black, and laser etched.

Hey JRH, is there an adapter to fit a puller 454 in a Losi MRC ?

Or is the motor too big ?

I just burnt up a reedy stump puller 19, with just 10 mins of use of my new 40c 2s 1050mah lipos.

The 454 bolts in, but it is too big for the rig. You would need to extend the tranny plate if I am not mistaken, and the pinion is different. It seems that a few have done this, but I have never seen it in person.
