The AX-10 looks to be a solid rig.
Does anybody have a good reason not to buy this truck as your first build?

The price is great.. Can't beat it by any means. I saw one perform at our season open, I was very impressed (but it was Dean driving it(he took first place in last years Socalrcrc)).. I love how quiet the truck was. But I hear they have a weak point.. The knuckles. But I'm sure that will be fixed soon enough.
Out of the box it's a great crawler, and with modification it can be an Awesome crawler.

Why would you want one... The quality is better than any other 2.2 kit, it will cost you a lot less than going with the other 2.2's out there, you already get beadlocks and tires that you can actually run, let alone the whole kit is already capable. You wont need to replace 90% of the kit to get a decent crawler like the rest...
The only reason for your first rig, but still not a good or reasonable reason. Is that maybe you would want to spend a lot of $$ and buy a bunch of parts all seperate to build your own rig and see what different set ups are a adv/disadv. and figure out whats best.
But save your self the $ and head ache.
First rig. Go with this. Tons of guys have em' already, no broken parts (that ive heard of), everyones happy. Just do it.

I've got nothing to talk you out of it either.
It's solid, cheap (comparatively), a blast to build, the anodized green is extremely cool looking in person (as opposed to the pics IMO), quality all around, beadlocks with good crawler tires, tiny tranny... and so on...
It's weak points will be discovered soon enough but the good news is that replacement parts and upgrades will be readily available.
Get one, you won't regret it one bit."thumbsup"

First build or tenth build, just do it. I pre-ordered one a long, long time ago and have built several other rigs since then. This one will be cake as most everything you need is included."thumbsup"

The tires & bead locks suck. I have yet to see a set of Axial bead locks last longer than a day without spinning the hex. I've seen 6 guys spin thiers the first time out.

Yep saw that post.
Thanks for the input, I was expecting someone to reccomend another rig, but it looks like the axial is a winner. just not a fan of the 1980's kawasaki green........

I know what you mean with the green but I honestly think it looks a lot better in person. Pictures really don't do this rig justice. It's really clean and robotic looking.... very cool. I wasn't a huge fan until I got my hands on it.

If you hate the green, you can always whip out the oven cleaner and go for the bare aluminum look.

Got mine today and for the price wow you can't beat it. I spent over double the cost to build one from scratch. Can't wait till the mods come out.

Really? I don't know anyone who's stripped one out here. The tires do suck though...no argument there whatsoever.
Oh...and on subject...I bought one and am very impressed. I am worried about the knuckles breaking (would love to see aluminum ones, especially ones that give more clearance for narrow offset wheels for the people who intend to build scalers with these axles later), but other than that, the thing looks great, and my concerns about the knuckles might not be valid...I've crawled it pretty hard and nothing's broken, but until parts become readily available, I won't be tumbling it 50 feet down the mountainside like I do regularly with the WK.
