I love the design. Looks mean:lol:
So, is the R2D the only trans that fits in the alotted space...or are you saying that it only has mounting hole provisions for that particular trans? What are the internal dimensions available for the trans to sit? I'm just wondering if a Stealth or even the new Axial trans would fit.
How about a pic from the bottom showing the skid?:)

Here's some additional info and pics.
First - Transmission mounting plate info

The trans plate is 89mm x65mm (3.50 X 2.56)
Finished lower chassis half showing interior space.
http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m147/kcrc_2006/S7300392.jpg
Distance between top rails 125mm at widest point.
Thanks, this is the info I was looking for. Sounds like if you had a shoe horn, you could almost get a pede to fit.
Same question as Pureadrenalin...is there a "stock" of these, or is there a wait period after it's ordered?

Taken from post#14:
There is room for virtually any size servo. I can make the mount to fit your dimensions. I run a Hitec 225 Mighty Mini with steel gear set on 6 volts. Works perfect and is small and lightweight.
These are not mine to sell, but hopefully the info I found in post#14 will help. If not Im sure Zorlac can give you better details.

Just helping out while the DMG is working the "regular" job....
Just PM for purchasing info. No website yet.
The chassis shown in the pic does NOT have the extra bar for the dig servo mount installed. That is a cross-brace that is added after the servo is decided on.
Hope this helps guys.

Still deciding witch design to use & if we are going to make it a direct stock fit chassis or not , seems everyone is getting rid of the long stock shocks & adding a upper 4 link set up.
Just don't want build a chassis for stuff no one is using ( IE , shocks & upper link's).
Our 2ed stock prototype was pretty tall on the side's , not good.
We are working on a new prototype that will use smaller ( traxxas ) shocks and bring down the tall side problem. not shure about the upper link set up yet!
Any info on you're ax set up would welcome "thumbsup" , myself - i don't have one yet , so i need all the input i can get on how every one wants this chassis designed.
Just wanting to build a cool chassis design that you guy's like & set up the way you want !

Got all kinds of new stuff in mind , first the DCS chassis will be offered in two version's.
#1 - DCS Direct fit tuber , that will use only stock part's !
#2 - DCS pro version (based on the DCV chassis) , using a 4 link set up & shorter shocks
Woohoo! The cat is out of the bag now."thumbsup" Its a win-win situation for both the hard core crawlers and crawlers who just want a direct bolt on chassis.
The DCS pro will use shorter shocks, as in Maxx 4" as opposed to the super long Axial stock shocks. That alone makes the pro version worth while to me. "thumbsup"

Awesome to see its finally released. I would like to point out that the lower aluminum plate that the tranny and skid plate bolt to wont look all crazy chopped up like the one pictured.
Mine is that way because we started with a standard DCV chassis as the prototype and cut up/modded that plate to make use of the triangulated lower link suspension set up. Just remember that none of the chassis Zorlac sells will go out to his customers looking like that.
Best part about the DCV/Pro is that it can use Axial parts AND use Maxx style shocks. No more gangly Axial shocks. That alone makes it worth while IMHO. "thumbsup"

I,m looking for a chassis tester here in the KC , MO & KC , KS area for a new chassis design I'm working on.
you must have to be willing to use your radio - Rx , speedo & servo , of your own for this project & test it well !
i will supply the rest , this is going to be a TLT based rig for now & promises to be some thing very revolutionary in design.
you will be very well rewarded for helping out with this project and most likely , production chassis #1 !! "thumbsup"
if interested PM me here on RCC and please not here on this thread ,
open to only crawlers in this area please.

Hello Zorlac.
I am Henry from Spain., please sorry for my bad english.

Please can you tell me if you have any tuber chassis for direct fitment all the pieces of the Axial??
if you have a chassis with this features, can you show me photos? I supose that the price it is similar to the other tuber chassis 185$ +-

What is the weight differance with Aluminum as apposed to a tube steel with a tuber of this size ?You shouldn't be asking a vender to change his product just for you unless your willing to pay him extra to build you your own custom chassis. Is that what your wanting, to pay for your own custom chassis?

I'm sure ready for the super class chassis you've mentioned to be produced and available for purchase. Do you know ifl they be available soon, or do you think it will be some time yet?
My personal need is your chassis for the 14" wheebase 'super class' rigs, which are becoming much more popular as of late. Also hoping for one of your chassis that would accomodate the more 'conventional' 16" to 18" wheelbase 'super class' rigs. Are you planning anything in either of these wheelbase ranges? If not, do you know yet what "Super Class" wheelbase, or wheelbases, you are planning to accomodate with your upcoming Super Class tube chassis?
Thanks very much, and patiently waiting.

What range of wheelbase lengths are you planning for it to fit (or work) properly with?
Will you be designing more than one chassis length to accomodate both the longer and more numerous 16" to 18" wheelbase supers and the new shorter 14" wheelbase supers?

I do agree with this post ^ , however, as rapidly as things fade down the vendor board, this is a back to top for the vendor. This is important, I had not seen or heard of this chassis until 2 days ago when this thread surfaced at the right time for me to see it on the main page, I checked it out, now I have one on order. I wasn't looking for a chassis, but I do/did have some extra parts around to hang on the right chassis. This looks like the right one to me."thumbsup" If this slips off the first page, IMO, it becomes hard to sell products with no traffic.

i have been getting a lot of request for a super class chassis !
this is my first try at a true super class comp rig & its my 3rd design so far.
the first two were not as cool looking as this design.
i am trying to build a chassis that everyone likes, wants & all-so works good.
i do plan to offer this chassis soon , but i just need to know what everyone thinks so far.
these pic's are of the prototype chassis.
i do have most of the production jig set up , but the final design could vary from this design.
this is the first step , see what you-all think !
then i will finish up the design & production jig. do some testing ,then i will be ready to take orders.
i would like to thank everyone for showing interest in the DMG , and i await your comments or thought's

Looks killer "thumbsup" What is that...5/16" rod? I assume the cross link is so the lowers don't twist around from the shocks being mounted on the link.
Those plates in the side panels where the links mount...are they set back enough so that the head of the link bolt won't interfere with the side panel going on flush?
Would be cool to see it with the sides and hood on it 8)
BTW...I love the Discover card skid :)
Offroader5
12-20-2007, 07:43 PM
One other thing that may cause a headache for you in the making of the panels. The tube node at the rear of the cab where the center side bar meets the b-pillar is set back from the vertical that comes up from the rear of the skid. This is causing an area where when you make the side panels, there will be some tricky bends to make it fit flush to all the tubes that make up the perimeter of the side.
I hope that made sense

all so , not much axle steer.
ill try moving the upper link's down a bit & see if that helps.

themerc64
01-14-2008, 09:16 PM
It is probably needed because of the limited triangulation the links provide and when shocks are mounted directly to the lower links they tend to rotate the lower links. I have the same issue with my G-made Spider because of the shape of the lower links. Adding that cross link is a good idea that I am going to try on the Spider.

could you build a dcs v1 to work with clod axles? That style is what I'm looking at for a super.

Considering the quality that they are the price is actually a steal. I'm saving my money to get one. I really like the look of the DCS/V1 and am saving up for that one.

I am trying to figure out which one of these to get. What are the differences between the DCV Pro and the Alluminiti? Advantages of one over the other for a 2.2 comp, with AX10 tranny and axles?
Thanks.

I compete with my aluminati and see no problems with the design. The pro looks a little lighter because it doesn't have the shock mount protection that the aluminati has.

I'm pretty happy to say the least with the DCV Pro you made me. Now its time for me to step up the plate and add some customizing myself.
Quick question - what grade/type of aluminum is it? I ask because I may be anodizing the entire chassis.
I also added a three dimensional hood ornament appropriate for a Death Metal Creation.
Now if I only didnt snap my drive gear in half I would be off and running. The crawlmaster with 3 cell lipo is hell on parts

I have a 7t mounted to an Axial trans in my Pro. The only thing that makes it a little tight is the right rear upper link where it mounts to the chassis. I am running a smaller spur gear which gives me the room I need without drilling new mounting holes for the trans. If you drill new holes you will have lots of room. There is plenty of room to move the trans to the left if needed.

I have mine in a 1.9 rockracer so it will be a little different. My tires are only 4" in diameter and the whole rig with a 2100 lipo only weighs 4lbs. 1oz.
I am using a 16t pinion and 81t spur. You have to file the bolt holes in the tranny plate a little to get the motor in closer to the trans with this gearing. It has LOTS of wheelspeed and pretty good lowspeed crawlability with a 3s lipo. It is only 4lbs though.
Because of the 11" wheelbase and lower ride height I have limited room for a battery. I think my best bet is to run two 910 3s lipos in parallel. One on the ft. links and one on the rear. Because it's a rockracer I don't want to drop below 1500mah.
