How many of you actually use the WK axles at the comp level? This forum seems to just be loaded with almost stock bashers and such.

I don't know about Comp worthy WK's... but I've seen plenty of trail rigs and scalers. When mine shows up it will be stock for a small time while I continue to plan out my scale/trail rig.

I've been running the axles and tranny since I bought mine, we have 'comps' almost every 2 weeks and I like to think I'm pretty hard on my tuber. I've got a RCE and a 45T Integy which equals a ton of wheel speed and enough torque to crawl along slowly, I've bound up the tires(more than one or two on occasion) and lauched it off some nice rocks, never had anything break so far.

Now, when I say comps I mean local comps, we have a total of 4 trucks including myself that run and we try to make our courses very difficult to test ourselves and our rigs. We might not stick to the rules completely but we do try to judge each other as evenly as possible.

I think the main problem people see with the WK is the axles seem to be slightly wider than others, but it's all in the set-up and the driver IMO. If your going to be hard on your equipment expect to break things....I have to say though, I think I've been especially hard on my WK and it hasn't let me down yet(knocking on wood:lol:)...

Ive been in one comp and the axles are alittle wide, you just gotta learn how to handle them. Ive also bashed the heck out of them and no cracks or anything."thumbsup"

I've seen joe drive in one of theses "comps" and he is hard on them!!!

we had a 10 rig comp at our last gtg. I took first with my WK axled tuber. My track width is 10 1/8" though. I ran narrowed pede wheels to get it that narrow.

well i have a WK based rig... iv never done a comp but as far as i know i built it to comp specs. 12 1/4 inch wheelbase.. running a r2disco,mamba,HH crawlmaster,its a little wide with rc4wd beads but i think its great and it crawls on huge terrain very well..

I run my truck for comps too and it is a little wide but you just have to learn how to drive it. But now that i have 2 different wheel set ups it fine."thumbsup"

No one that I have seen(2.2) can climb that rock my truck is on over 11" wide. There was a pimpcane 2.2 there with like 6"of belly clearance but was 12" wide that couldnt do it last time. This time he came he climbed it with ease because he changed his track width to as narrow as possible.

still, width could help in lots of places, just not at our spot"thumbsup"

That's what my build is using, rear Stampede wheels inside narrowed..,.looks great so far, I may outside narrow about 1/4" after I drive it. 8)

i had mine inside narrowed in the pic, then outside narrowed them last night"thumbsup" Works great and the hex's still look great after several hours of crawling.

I run my WK here in WARCRC comps. It is a purpose built comp truck, and it's very competitive, the driver sometimes is not though :lol:

I run RPM narrow offset (Pede Electric Rear) wheels to keep the width under control.

Very comp worthy axle. Proper offset to the wheels is the key to getting the wk axle to an acceptable width to run comp courses. Billetworks makes some killer beadlocks that would do the job.

how did you stick your wieghts to your axel? Mine were in my wheels now i want to try a new way of putting them on the axel.


Tires are weighted too. I just used stick on wheel weights. The axle housings are nice and flat, so I just stuck it on. Honestly I'm surprised it's stayed this long.

well mine were the stick ons but i had to take them off my Erickson bead locks because i broke one and had to send it back for the lifetime warranty. I was thinking of glueing them on with a hot glue gun.

id like to try and comp my crawler... i don't think theres any around here tho... come to think of it... iam most likely the only one in this town of 30 000 people with an RC crawler...lol... is there a link on this site to find local comps?
