The J2-TT link is the same as the K2-3L link.

The new K2-3L and K2-3S build documents are finished and ready for download.
The build documents are not only helpful during the build but may be helpful in making a decision on what scale/comp chassis to buy.
I hope that you find them helpful.

Well I just finished a new build document for the K2-3L chassis using TLT axles and an Axial tranny. I think that with these 4 build documents a builder should have just about everything he/she needs in documentation to put a K2 chassis together.
Thanks!

I've made a few updates to the build documents.
Thank you for all the suggestions "thumbsup"

Can the wheely king trany fit the K23L???
thanks.

The Wheely King tranny is so long and awkward that it is tuff to work with. I've never tried but I don't see why not with some fabricating.

You ever get a set of WK axles? I'm recently acquired a set and have a 3L just dying to be built up!!

You know I have not had the time to build up a K2 chassis with Wheely King axles. I hope to make a build document sometime soon but with the new Tamiya rig coming out I will need to be on top of that here soon.
I've seen a few build-ups, and it looks fairly easy to do, I just need to get of my duff and get on it.

I have just finished the J2-TT (Narrow) / Axial build. It turned out pretty well. I managed to stuff a R2D Trans, Novak Goat ESC/Motor, receiver, and Dig servo all within the chassis. First comp with this setup is Saturday.

Unfortunately I do not have a measurement for comparison, but the "narrowed" chassis is the same width as the Axial stock chassis. I believe that the standard one is wider to support use in the SUPER class and the larger transmissions. Maybe Kaetwo has a more complete answer.

how narrow is the "narrowed" j2-tt compared to the original one ?? thanksIt is 1/2" narrower than the original one. It will fit the Axials, R2s & Stealths just fine. The Pede may fit cut up a bit with a small brushless (but this is untested because the narrow was designed for the smaller tranys).

Would a build with Axial axles/tranny use the same links and other parts from the build document or would they be different?
I'd like to strip a Scorpion and build a J2-TT based crawler.
Thanks

ALL of the Axial parts will bolt right up. You may want to limit the shocks, or replace them with 100mm. I found that my 4 bent links made the wheelbase too long by about 1/4" so I had to trim them down. I do not know if this also happens with the stock straight links, but in order to compete, it needs to get to 12.5". I also purchased solid aluminum 60mm upper links to replace the stock hollow 55mm ones(you could use spacers for this). The stockers will work, but the driveline angles get a little tough....especially if you are running the plastic drive shafts so the longer upper links will raise the pinion angles. I hope that this helps. PICS of my build are earlier in the thread.

I like to build a Landrover with a wheelbase of 11", because the Landrover (Defender, made by KamTec GB) has a 10" wheelbase, i'll use tires with a size like the Rock Lizzards. Axles will be Clod, i got a pair with locked diffs. It will become a Rock Racer/Tough Racer, no Crawler, i have two 27T Orion Motors and variable Motormounts there, so there are options left to give it the right acceleration and torque for racing through the backyard, bashing and low level crawling, i think. A Dig is planned, too (3-CH HPI Radio).
The Question is - will the dimensions fit to the J2-TT? Is it possible to build a car with accurate articulation (not too much, primary it should race on every ground - short shocks) together with a very low CG :?: Or do i better take the K2-3S?
The battery will be placed on the skidplate, the speed-controller (with fan) on the rear top, viewable through a hole in the body so i can programm it without taking the body off the chassis.
The main problem is that i'm low on money and got no great hobby-garage and can't let someone machine parts for me. It must work with parts i have an easily can prepare by myself. Are there Pushrods of Traxxas/HPI i can use to fit the needed dimensions?
;-) Thanks in advance,
Dennis

Either the J2-TT or the K2-3s will work fine. The J2-TT is a bit burly than the K2-3s but the K2-3s is no flimsy piece of crap. The K2 seems to have the better geometry with axles and shocks for my plans, but the J2 allows future use with other axles or setup change to pure rock-crawling (longer shocks with softer springs, etc.) - that's why i'm not able to go for K2 or J2.
If someone has pictures of a clod with J2 and low clearance (= very low CG for racing) - could (s)he post em, please?:)

Any build docs for K2-5 Chassis (Axial axles with Axial tranny Build-Up)?
What wheelbase would you end up with using 5318 links on the K2-5?

Yup!
Last build doc on the first post.
